IIRC, the download's pretty small. There's a small subscription for full access but you can play with the basic kits for free. To play in stuff like officer roles you need to pay, but there isn't any premium bullshit.
It's pretty dank desu senpai, I can't believe they don't market it more, they could really grow their fanbase by just putting it on steam, but maybe they don't want to compromise the "hardcore" aspect.

Okay so here are all the best /k/-related games:
1) Counterstrike because of the more realistic recoil.
2) Insurgency because of the weapon customizations even though Mp40s still being used is unrealistic.
3) World of Tanks because it has so many tanks and they are historically accurate.
4) I would say the original call of duty since it also had many historical weapons.
5) Day of Defeat source.
6) Arma 3 because of realism

Not playing CoH Blitzkrieg Mod that gets rid of balancing for sake of realism. The only problem: I have with Blitzkrieg are that they added an artificial unit cap for Nebelwerfers, because I would build 20 and call in a barrage on the enemy base and obliderste it. The second problem is that you can't call in Support powers like V2s or infinite range artillery on HQ territories
