I want pic related. I don't own NODS and don't plan to, but I want a bump helmet for no good reason. Tell me why or why not I should/shouldn't get it
Also, helmet/gear bread
>>29347119
Just get it. Why do you think you need k's permission?
>>29347119
Makes you look retarded.
>>29347146
It does look like a glorified special ed helmet
>>29347143
Not looking for permission, just a valid reason to justify buying $250 more shit to myself
>>29347119
>want's a bump helmet
what are you? some airshitter? go all the way and buy a legit kevlar or don't go at all.
Why would you buy an OpsCuck when Team Wendy is a thing?
>>29347153
holy shit it really does
>>29347143
FYI, pic related is who you're asking advice from. You don't have delta force operators posting brony memes on this board.
>>29347176
No airshit, I'm much more likely to smack my shit into something than get shot. Also, weight
My Czech m52 helmet, made in 63 I think, the stamp is a bit smudged, it could be 68.
>>29347184
There's a nig and maybe two females in this photo...
>>29347257
i bet you're a racist unironically
go back to pol
>>29347275
everyone is a racist
the sooner you realize this, the easier life will be
>>29347310
sure they are
thats not my point
Don't waste your money. A helmet is just extra crap to haul around.
The benefits to not outweigh the pain-in-the-ass factor.
>>29347333
Nice digits
I'll probably just spend the money on reloading shit...you have a good point that I've been thinking about too. Baseball cap and ears it is
>>29347368
Glad I could help.
IMO helmets are just a pain, they interfere with everything. They drip sweat in your eyes when your shooting, they offer leverage to anyone who can get close to you, they offer only minimal ballistic protection... just not worth it.
>>29347119
I've got a spot for nods on my 6b47. I say get one if you want, no reason not to. Noggin protection is quite good.
>>29347119
Also pic related in the mail, will be here soon. Dont want to take a round to the face while serving high risk warrants.
>>29347368
or spend your $$ on a chest rig and battle belt.
>>29347428
Already have a CIRAS maritime w/soft and hard armor, and a tactical tailor battle belt
I may get a rig at some point for my ak though
Just get a pasgt on ebay for like $50.
>>29347184
Did everyone run a train on the chubby girl with the 612 shirt on?
>>29347184
I've got some good questions.....how many virgins in this picture? How many commercial buffer tubes? How many bayonets?
>>29347427
muh dick
>>29347195
>Also, weight
really faggot? I had to wear the old PASG for years, I almost came in my pants when they gave us the MICH on my second tour. You set one of those up right, they weight should become part of you.
too drunk to really read what this thread is about but ill share me helmets
>>29350141
first was a mitch, this is a sphera
>>29350157
Yeah i know rhino mounts are shit
Just buy the Emerson air soft version if you want it for cosplay/light bumps
You could get a protec as well and go full early 90s delta
Kevlar pots.
we don't really get the super nice helmets that will save you from a bullet, so just get something super light, takes a super common harness and will stop shit from falling on your head. cheap, too.
pic related, $20 at a surplus shop and it's good enough for the cosplay that 99% of /k/ would ask of it
Bumping with altyn and 6b47
Can take more pics if anyone wants them
>>29351177
Fuckin' noice.
Where from/how much? Those things are so cool.
Want to buy one
>$800
>>29351199
Get a credit card.
>>29351177
both bought on ebay
altyn was around 1k and 6b47 was about 150
>>29347184

White-out 2015
>>29350395
>Kevlar pots.
>we don't really get the super nice helmets that will save you from a bullet
Who's "we?"
>>29351199
Maskas are pretty shit desu, and they're cheap if you know where to look.
>>29347119
I have an ACH with all the standard issue gear. I am allowed to willy nilly change my gear around.
What is the best strap system for a combat helmet, does it exist for the ACH, or can it be adapted? I will be wearing this long term, ATVs and possibly riot duty. Infact, what I hate about my current helmet + straps the most is some OP4NIGNOG grabbed my helmet in a simulated riot, and was able to get a really good hold and wretch head around easily. I wanted to actually kill him. I want to make my helmet less of a detriment to my head in close quarters where you can't just blast them "bad guys."
It doesn't matter so much if I lose my helmet but maintain my posture control, because then I can baton the fucker who jumped me into oblivion and recover my helmet.
Also, what is the most highly resistant (to boolits) face shield option? If we are to be issued a face shield, we have the option to upgrade to a better one with our own money.
>>29353539
wow you're asking idiots a lot of too-important questions.
What the fuck are you thinking, man...get your shit together and start googling.
>>29353539
Team Wendy system and do you really want a heavy ass ballistic visor on your helmet? I say keep the thin one because ballistic visors are heavy AF.
>>29353557
Maybe my google-fu isn't up to snuff, but I have found any strap system that'll work with the ACH other than the issued ones. Maybe I'm being too specific. I honestly thought some gearqueer here would have figured out a jury-rigged solution for getting other, better straps on it.
I did hear of an armorer who drilled holes in his for other straps once, but I'm not sure that doesn't compromise the integrity of the helmet.
>>29353617
Do you have a preference as far as these go, I hate that I don't know anyone with one so I can see how I like it before buying.
The ballistic visor would just be for special occasions, not all the time. We normally won't have any visors on. Yes, I definitely will be ok with more weight for more protection in that special instance.
>>29353712
I'm not sure, you'll just have to look up the reviews or ask someone that has an ACH.
Security pro USA has one that can go on an ACH. The only visor experience I have is with a zsh1-2 tho, and some riot helmet.
>>29347119
What's with this meme helmet fad? Do we have elves serving in our ranks or something?
>>29347119
the only reason is price. I think they go for around $200 + shipping. You can get a Pro-Tec classic for around $40-$50.
Can't copy pic: http://protecbrand.com/collections/the-classic-1/products/the-classic-satin-black
>>29347243
Nice.
I love me some Warsaw Pact helmets
>>29353539
Are you mil or police?
If you're military, Opscore is the only thing authorized besides the standard issue.
If you're a civvie you can get whatever you want
>>29355869
Let's be serious, a big reason for replacing these is they just look silly as fuck. They have more than adequate protection and are likely cheaper to make than a more refined frtiz type helmet. But fuck me they look goofy as fuck.
slavs, (sad) clowns of the battlefield.
>>29355906
Mil, but my captain does not give a fuck. We have alot of non-standard gear. We ain't even supposed to have ATVs, they wanted us to use fucking MRAPs. HQ platoon looks like it fell of the gearqueer tree and hit every branch on the way down. There XO even has gas mask he bough that takes (gee billy) two filters at once.
>>29355932
Geezus
>of
*off
>there

I guess I should go to sleep.
>>29347119
Head protection is one of the things you shouldn't be a cheap ass on. My ACH has saved me a lot of pain getting in and out of tiny ass vehicles, going through random buildings with low doorways, doing a shit PLF and ending up backwards and upside down on my head. You don't even realize how many times you've hit your head until look at all the paint chips and scrapes.
>>29356001
I'd stick with an Opscore chinstrap, just in case you ever get to jump school or join an airborne unit you can keep using it.
>>29356026
HA, I don't need or want anymore schools. I am gtfo after this last enlistment. I love this unit but it's getting chopped up when we get home. CPT is retiring and XO is going somewhere else. Top is even retiring. Alot of other people are getting sent to FUCKING korea and the rest are to be split between our current battalion and some bumfuckistan station, I think manas.
Also, I have an ACH, not a LWH or whatever you got there. Do you recommend your strap for the ACH still, and why do you like it? Again, I have some specific reason why I want to change from the issued straps. >>29353539
>>29355908
They were replaced because the DDR was dissolved and the NVA came under the control of the Bundeswehr. Just like the Soviets didn't want the East Germans marching around in Nazi style helmets, the West Germans didn't want the East Germans marching around in DDR helmets.
>the M56 isn't sexy as fuck
Bro, do you even aesthetic?
>>29356099
>do you even aesthetic
Yes, that's how I know that thing looks like dogshit.
>>29356094
https://tnvc.com/shop/ops-core-ach-head-loc-x-nape/
Go with this then, its as good as you're going to get for an ACH.
The way shit is going I don't blame anyone who wants to get out, I think its a smart move with how much bullshit is about to be shoved down our throats when women get to the line.
>>29347410
How was your vacation in Donetsk?
>>29356162
That's a nice looking strap, I'll just see if I can compare it to the team wendy offering somehow. But that's a nice looking strap. Thanks mang.
>>29350141
Are you one of the Amped guys?
>>29350217
Rhinos are fine IMHO, but the J-Arms blow.
I epoxy the swing-arm as that's what wobbies, and I always use my piece left-eye. J-Arms are like $15 on Egay so I have a spare if I ever want to revert.
>>29353837
Because it's comfy as fuck. Had one since they went on preorder, they're seriously dope bump helmets and for noodles at night. I've had some hard hits and even after years it's incredibly comfortable with the Ops Core pads.
>>29355908
I like it.
>>29357243
no idea who the Amped guys are
>>29357252
