Wanting to get a new flashlight for EDC. Want dual output, with the high output being powerful enough to disorient and stun someone at night, and a striking bezel.
Been meaning to get one for a while, but now that I've got a new job that doesn't even let me carry a pocket knife I need SOMETHING to fight with if SHTF.
Currently looking at pic related. What does /k/ suggest?

CRKT makes two "tactical" flashlights and they also make some tactical pens for situations just like yours. They paired with James Williams when developing them and they seem like nifty gadgets to have in non-permissive areas. The thing is, in a video I saw where he was demonstrating use of the product, he said to never use the flashlight to strike but instead use your knife or tactical pen. Vid related.

You can check out his lights and pen here: https://www.crkt.com/cgi-bin/crkt.pl?q=williams

The more expensive of the lights is bright enough to stun, keep in mind the prices are much lower when buying from places like Walmart or Amazon.

What would you recommend for a rechargeable?
>>
Tn-12

It's 1,000lux

Nice dubs and yes.
>>29336058
Why not just use rechargeable batteries?
>>
>>29334510
Get a g2x pro from amazon. Surefire quality, durability and snobbery all in one package!
Not being sarcastic. I own three. They are perfect for edc.
>>
>>29335952
I can't justify $70 for a pen man. I can stab someone with a regular pen, but a good flashlight really can come in handy.
>>
>>29336312
Fair enough. Gerber makes one with a cheaper MSRP that accepts rite-in-the-rain refills. Found it on Amazon just shy of $43 but the metal bit for fighting/glass breaking seems like it would make this pen more difficult to use in a CQC situation. http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-Impromptu-Tactical-Pen-31-001880/dp/B00B0BD3W0
>>
>>29336312
That is just the MSRP. Pen can be found on amazon for $40

Is there a reason I shouldn't just spend $5 on this?

Streamlight Protac 1L

1 CR123
High Mode 260(?) Lumens
Strobe Mode (260-- whatever high output is) Lumens
Low 10(?) Lumens

Small enough for pocket, not quite big enough to fall under the autism spectrum.

About 40 bucks I enjoy mine
>>
>>29336403
After rereading your post... I guess I missed the bit about a striking bezel. Protac sort of not really qualifies.

In that case, Surefire E2D Defender Ultra--- if it is in your price range.
>>
>>29334510

I edc a surefire EB1 (single CR123). It has a dual button, soft press for low, hard press for 300 lumens. They also make the E1D which is the same light but with a strike bezel.

Yes; that looks way too weaponized and I doubt you'll be able to take it into as many places. If you want to go with something cheap a better option seems like http://www.amazon.com/Partstock-Aircraft-Aluminum-Defender-Tactical/dp/B00XKYBZLG/ref=pd_sim_200_8?ie=UTF8&dpID=413QuSf3NHL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=02Q7EZVRJ3XY5J7MT62E

Looks less like a weapon, has a better rating and you get a two-pack.
>>
>>29336433
Anything this size that's cheaper? This is what I'm ideally looking for in restricted carry area.
