I got one for $20, I'm jealous though. I have a flecktarn shirt that I ended up "sanitizing" by removing the little flags, but I didn't touch the Tropentarn shirt cause I felt like it might be worth something someday. No, only loading and unloading it wears out the spring. I think unless it's one of the surplus mags. Then you don't want to store those fully loaded so the coils touch. Well on a sensible note, I probably broke even on the karst project as a whole. The biggest advice I can give you is to keep it as simple as possible. Biggest cost is work, followed by fabric and then zips, finally other trimmings. Easier design equals cheaper work, but remember if you compromise too much you'll be remembered as that guy who made chink level quality jackets. It's possible to fall in the middle, I just hit high end.
