Finally bought a gun I've been eyeing for a year and it comes in Tuesday. Anyone have pic related? What's the deal with holsters? I hear it's not quite the P229 or P228 so what works?

Honestly in that price range I would prefer a CZ P07, but this is a Sig thread ;^)

The SP2022 is a bit unloved, but it is a solid platform. Just be aware it only comes with a single mag, and you will be about the cost of some higher priced options (FNX9, CZ P07), after you get mags for it.
>>
Anybody have a P320? Wanted to get one for the Sig glory, but don't know how well it holds up. It's between that and a glock if that helps at all...

fuuuck don't make me second guess myself. My big reason I want to get the SP2022 is because my LGS has a FDE one in 9mm for 430 bucks new. And I can physically look at it and hold it and make sure its good.

I own one, they aren't bad but by the time you get 5 mags for it (my personal minimum amount of mags I like to have for a handgun) you could have bought a basic model P226.
>>
I've got an SP2022 currently, and I love it. It's got a pretty good trigger, and it's fun to shoot. Plus it was 499, which in AK isn't bad.
Now, I'm looking at buying a P220 in 10mm. Probably the stainless with rosewood grips. Have you guys heard anything particularly negative about these guns?
>>
>>29318629
Solid weapon built pretty well. Trigger is better than good, can't say more because I only have 200 through it so i don't know if the trigger cleans up a bit or not.

can be as high as 1000 to as low as 700, depending on the wear, location and if you get a good deal. Ive cc one and it was terrible but not that great either. its a full sized, heavy duty gun. trying to conceal it is tough and the weight and size get in the way more often then not
try to find a 228 or 229 if you want to cc. a p226 is better as an OC or duty weapon

just got mine the other day. i figured ill start with sig lite and if i like them ill get a more expensive one. dropping 1100 bucks on a pistol that ive never shot before seemed extreme to me even though i can afford it.

was it just mine or did all your guys sigs come soaked in oil? ive never bought a gun that came in a bag inside the box. i was finger fucking this dudes m11a1 and his was oozing oil as well.
>>

Yeah you need to give them a good wipe with q tips and a towel to get all the excess oil out. My 226 practically had a waterfall going around the decock

That looks a lot nicer than I imagined it to be.
>>
I've been eyeing the 226, for a while now, but at roughly that price I can swing an HK P30 or maybe a USP.

Which would be the better buy? I fired both at my range that rents them out and shot basically the same. They were cheating a bit with the Sig, though as it wasn't the vanilla model, so it had some upgrades to the trigger.
>>
>>29316626
Rented a legion, immediately traded all my Glocks in to buy one.
>>
>>29322265
>or maybe a USP
are you looking at used? usp's generally run slightly cheaper then used p226's.

personally, i'd go with the sig and plan to buy the usp later. but you're right about the trigger, at least plan for a srt in the sig which is another 50 bucks, but the best 50 bucks you can spend on a single up grade.
>>
>>29322265
Youre in a SiG thread. Everyone here is delusional.

That being said, Get the USP45T 'LE package'. Comes with 3 mags and night sights for like $30 more.

If you want a USP in 9mm.... kill yourself. you are purposely gimping yourself on capacity. Glock > Sig all day when it comes to 9mm's

Walther P99
G19
Sig P229 SAS gen 2 with E2 grips or USP9C w/hogue

Still not used to that 938 SAO trigger break. It's perfect for defense I'm sure but it's kind of hard for slow bulls eyes at the range.

Would /k/ recommend a sig as a first gun?

Get the Sig. I love my 229. If for your first handgun you don't want to spend so much, consider the SP2022
>>
>>29323652
Try both, and try a p320 as well because it's more comparable to a glock than a p229 is. Sigs are really nice, but if you don't want the high price tag of the DA/SA, the p320 is ~$530 and you can change out the entire frame for a different size.

Recently purchased a mk25 and had some chambering issues with Hornady critical defense. Left is what it looked like after it failed to chamber. Is this an ammo issue or is there something wrong with my sig? Also is the left still safe to fire?
>>
>>29323721
I don't know what the issue is, but the left round is definitely not safe to shoot. Bullet setback can lead to extreme spikes in pressure which can be catastrophic.

W. German P226 reportin in. Best handgun I ever had.
>>
>>29322073
I did the Cerakote myself. I had two other P225's and purchased the P6 for cheap (like $300 with 3 magazines and a nice holster if I remember correctly), the only issue being the finish was nearly gone. So I decided to do a Cerakote job, turned out decent, I changed out the hammer spring to a P225 weight, and changed the rest of the springs out to freshen it up, added the Trijicon NS, and hogue grips. I've been carrying it (with the factory grips) for 3 years and it still looks good.
>>
>>29322399
You didn't fuck up! They are awesome, mags can be pricey, and you will want to add a P225 main spring to lighten the DA pull as factory P6 is like 20lbs.

Good guns though, buy some white lithium grease for the rails, and you should be g2g. Just be aware that some of these guns do not like feeding jhp ammo, mine is ok (but I did polish the chamber and feed ramp), but some will not feed.

>>
>>29324084

>>
>>29323721
They are hanging up on the feed ramp because of the shitty polymer plug. My P229 will not feed it either, it has never hung up on anything else, so I am chalking it up to the plug as that is the only difference.

And the round on the left is definitely not safe to fire, setback can cause your gun to explode.

I think sig tests shoots their higher end models quite a bit. I just bought a sig 229 at a higher trim level and it came dirty. They had a stack of new boxes, all new stickers paperwork, everything obviously brand new and the gun ended up having a lot of powder residue in it, about a magazine or more worth when I got it home. For a second I thought maybe it was used but no way was it, brand new shop, brand new guns, all new case, clean, sticker, pamphlets etc.. in the case all new.
To be honest the gun runs a little dirty but it shoots really really nicely. If it were a woman, I guess it'd be perfect.

You know how I can tell you're a shit posting moron?
>>
>>29337286
because I dont agree with your delusions about Sig being best at anything except being overpriced?
>>
>>29324068

thanks for the heads up, I never thought that it'd have a heavier spring due to being police issue, but that makes a lot of sense. As soon as I get it paid for I'll post it up.
>>
does a p226 feel sexy like a cz?
>>
>>29326147

Bump for interest.

How about it Sigbros?
>>
>>29339025
a p226 with the short reset trigger feels like a CZ with a trigger job from cajun gun works.
>>
>>29336257
Again, nigga please. If your guns are rusting then you're the fucking problem.

If a CZ is a $20 massage, a Sig is a $40 massage with a happy ending.

You get what you pay for.

How're the TLR-4's? Did you pick R/G?
>>
P320 reporting in.

I really like it thus far. Smooth as fuck trigger and reset. Shoots very nicely. Really no complaints.
>>
>>29337667
No problemo man, the spring is easy to change to change. I have a 4th one that I haven't snapped pics of yet, but its a Montage Suisse, heel release, Swiss assembled P225. I'll snap some pics when I have a minute. You made a great choice.
>>
>>29337667
Oh, and one last thing I forgot to mention. I would recommend getting a new recoil spring first thing as well, with the P6's, some were shot a lot, some not so much, but the spring is like $8.
>>
>>29339581
I'm not the anon you asked, but I have a TLR1-HL and a TLR-3, the TLR-1 is better in every way.

my p220 and my cheap walmart light
>>
>>29340286
That definitely looks like a cheap walmart light. How's it holding up?
>>
>>29340351
Meh, for 20 bucks its really not too bad. I just didnt feel like dropping 100 bucks on on a TLR right after I just bought a gun. Probably will pick up a TLR1 or something soon though. Its a light though, its shined every time I flip the switch and its pretty bright so I cant really complain.
>>
>>29340376
I have one of those lights. Different company, but exact same appearance. It held up on my 2022, my AR that I slapped it on for giggles, and my glock 20. For a 25 dollar light, I really can't complain.
>>
>>29340485
yeah, they arent bad. I just hate the way it looks. I like the look of the TLR-1's. Something about them are just sexy when mounted on a gun. I think its because they are round.

TLR is b0ss status. I'd go with the HL as it makes a big difference.

Damn USPs' proprietary rail.

>>29316705
What he says. Legion totally rocks. It was the gun that actually taught me what the proper trigger break and reset are, and all other guns I own have suddenly started having ugly gritty triggers after that.

GG&G makes the pain go away anon.
