What's the worst recoiling gun you've fired /k/? In terms of felt recoil.

Mine: 3" sabot slugs fired from a remshit 870
or s&w model 29 4" barrel with hand loads so hot they cracked the brass. Neither were really that bad though.
>>
A 686 with 158 .357 grain in it.

Not too bad, but it was loud as fucking hell compared to anything else.

It's hard to explain, because the recoil wasn't exactly "worse" than the .357, but 9x18 blowback guns really "snap" a lot worse, and beat the FUCK out of my hand webbing. PA63 was the worst for this with the single stack; the cz82 not so much.
>>
>>29315255
Wait are you complaining about 9mm recoil?
>>
>>29315287
He said worst, not bad, jesus christ man

S&W M&P 45

I disliked it, its was all plasticy and with a weird two piece trigger. I enjoyed the SW 44 magum more, it kicked but atleast the bullets were in the middle every time.

Fucking Belgians and their heavy ass GPMG.

I'd say 12 gauge 2.5" slugs from my 24" 870.

I've never shot a bolt action .30-06 or .308 though(I've shot a Garabd and FAL however). How do you those compare?

Daily reminder
>When I was a lad we used to think the ’03 was a jawbreaker—but it was not. Then we started going to larger and larger cartridges, which kicked more and more, and this bothered some people far more than others. It has a lot to do with how much you shoot. Those of us who shoot a good deal hardly notice recoil, and yet a lot of people complained about the recoil of the .350 Short Mag when it first appeared. For a long time the .375 Holland cartridge was generally held to be a bruiser, but it certainly is not today—note that we now even have an “Ultra 375.” When the .458 Win came out, it scared a lot of people until they discovered that recoil effect upon a shooter is about 85 percent mental. If you convince yourself that recoil is nothing to worry about, it will not be. I have a lot of experience along this line, having taught people rifle marksmanship for most of my adult life. It is not a matter of how big or strong you are, it is a matter of what you think you should think about rifle kick. I have had great success with adolescents of both sexes in this regard, and while I certainly do not assert that recoil effect does not exist, I do insist that it is highly overrated. Any boy who plays touch football seriously will be beaten around far more in a quarter than he ever will be by the butt of his rifle. What is more, he will enjoy it.

I imagine a bolt .30-06 or .308 would be comparable to a 12 ga with 2.5. I've shot .308 from an m1a, the recoil is negligible. can't imagine it would be much worse from a bolt gun.

>3" 2oz turkey maximum loads from an 8.5" 12ga pistol
Okay that one smarted the hands, finishing the box was fun. That ammo broke a few pistol grips and killed an optic.
>3.5" 2 1/4oz turkey maximum loads from an 870 supermag
More of a fun ride than anything, gun needs a steel buttplate.
>540gr hardcasts Ruger No1 maximum hot-loads from a 7.5lbs 45-70 that has a steel buttplate
Printed the stitching of the t-shirt on my skin but not too bad until 40+ rounds from the bench.

Apparently people tell me I'm not recoil sensitive.

Probably 3 inch 000 buckshot from a lightweight pistol grip only mossberg 500 (Dont do this), that or full power .44 magnum out of a buddies (extremely lightweight) Smith 329PD.

Pretty boring, Id love to get my hands on a 500 smith or some hot ass black powder shit.
>>
3 1/2 inch slugs out of a synthetic stocked 870.

Sucks tremendous balls.
>>
>>29316943

12 ga is worse.

I'd shoot a .30 cal rifle all day long over 12 gauge with slugs, unless it's coming out of a heavy gun.

.300 Weatherby Mag from a MkV Ultralight.
>top-10 recoiling western-hunting caliber
>5lb rifle
It was quite unpleasant.
>>
>>29315223
From the shoulder, 3 1/1" 10 gauge #4 steel through a lightened (why god?) full choked NEF single shot.

Mounted, M2 HB onna ring mount, in Iraq and elsewhere.

I accidentally double charged an inline muzzleloader (Buckhorn 209) due to a change in powder type. I was firing handmade charges of wrapped birdshot, each about 1300 grains, over what should have been 50 grains of Pyrodex equivalent. The powder used was actually equivalent to 100 grains of Pyrodex.

Normally, it hurt a bit with the right charge. This blew the bolt back open through the nipple, knocked me over, and launched the gun over my shoulder.

I was burned and had dislocated my shoulder. The muzzleloader was bent and scored. That was 8 years ago and I still have a weak shoulder on my right side.

A full charge 1777 charleville musket.

Holy fucking shit. My head hurt so much that I feared a concussion. No wonder why soldiers were afraid of their guns.

Idk man

7.62x51 real fucking NATO out of my M1A seems to kick more than 2-3/4 1oz slugs or OO buck from my 590A1.

Not 3" slugs / buck, that's another story.

Perhapse it's the fact that my mossman has a rubber buttpad vs the metal one on the M1A.

In any event I could shoot 2-3/4 from my 590A1 or 7.62x51 NATO from the M1A all day long. Shooting 3" magnum loads all day? No thanks.

Would be the day I learned to shoot probably
>be 6
>visiting uncle with my dad
>uncle is a retired cop with lots of funs
>learning to shoot on a Belgium falling block .22
>doing well hitting target no problem
>move up to ruger 10/22
>hitting target no problem and faster
>uncle has a silly idea
>pulls out what looks like a metal brick to me
>ok anon you have to hold this one tight and make sure to point down range. It's going to be completely different from the rifles.
>ok
>it was a full auto Mac-10
>I pull the fuck out of the trigger
>and horrifically brrrrrt skywards with the muzzle
>uncle quickly stops me there
>father says I think that's enough for today.

I was rattled for the rest of that day. I can still remember it pretty clearly. Shot it again when I was about 14 and it was a jammy piece of shit. No idea how 6yo me did a full Mag dump
>>
.338 lap mag when i was 11
shit kicked hard yo
>>
>>29315223
.338 lapua magnum is a kicker if your rifle is less than 12 pounds.
>>
I've shot a full auto Thompson, something about the way the stock is positioned in addition to the .45 makes it climb like a monkey. A little stupid actually but hey spray and pray.
>>
One time I shot a .22. I don't have hands anymore.
>>
>>29315223
44 Magnum revolver. I anticipated way more recoil than what it ended up being but it was still a hand cannon.
>>
>>29322249
>This

.22, not even once
>>
>>29322228
I agree, the Thompson stock is probably the single worst rifle stock I've ever had the displeasure of shouldering next to maybe a MAC wire stock
>>
9,3x64 bolt action weighing less than 3kg with heavy hunting loads.
That or the 9,3x74R double rifle that accidentally fired both barrels when I test fired it. Now that shit did bruise me.
I also shot .375 H&H, but that was out of guns with sufficient weight so not bad.

Of the few handguns I shot, a pretty lightweight .357 with hot loads was the hardest recoiling. The first shot caught me by surprise, but it was controllable with a firm grip..
>>
>>29315223
My friend's 9.3x64 Tiger rifle. It wasn't "that" bad, it's just the hottest thing we can get here.
>>
>>29322412
>9.3x74r both barrels
That'd be interesting. From obe barrel I find it comparable to 30-06 in my double
>>
.410 derringer.
And really, ANY derringer. Literally zero grip to engage with.

this with slugs and the OEM grips.
>>
>>29322464
yeah i shot a 22mag derringer and it flew right out of my hand and cracked its little wood grip on the ground. Derringers NOT EVEN ONCE!
>>
>>29322460
Yeah normally 9,3x74R is no problem at all, but both barrels at once out of lighter DR got me good.
>>
>>29322482
>2+1 capacity
Why not just carry a sawnoff coach gun?

better yet, why didnt the fuckers just make it 3+1?
