If you can get a basic one for cheap, they make passable beaters, but they're really not very good quality. Don't spend a lot of money on one, and don't expect it to be good.

That AK47 is a solid blade design, but the handle is not good.
I wish they got rid of that angle.
It's also a bit heavy for how short it is. And expensive.
Best Cold Steel is cheap Cold Steel imo. SRK and Recon Tanto are excellent beater knives , and their strong folders are unbeatable for the price.
Many operators that have to ditch their gear when they finish their contracts choose Cold Steel precisely because of the quality / price relation.

I've got a recon1 on my keychain, it's a good little blade to abuse and use on random things. Cheap enough to replace if I fuck it up too.
I also like Ontario knives for cheap useable blades.
