What are /k/'s thoughts on UMP?
>>
Meme trash
>>
Dunno. Personally I think the mp5 is prettier
>>
>>29302279

The CZ EVO3A1 is better and probably cheaper. The only thing the UMP has going for it is the option for .45 ACP chambering and that doesn't really matter to anybody outside of the American market. And the American market prefers AR anyway.
>>
I played around with a USC years ago when they were still new. Its light, but to a fault. Its kind of unpleasant to use compared to a Thompson clone Ive fired, because it doesn't have any weight to compensate for the .45 kick. Cant comment on the F/A version though.
>>
>>29302279

Shoots too slowly for my tastes. But basically an updated Thompson.
>>

It's a nice, light, compact SMG.

It may actually be succeeded by the gun that it was built to replace--see HK's MP5 "midlife upgrades".

as someone who actually owns one. they are pretty cool my favorite gun I own desu. downside is parts and mags cost an arm and a leg. only complaint is the factory sights are super low to the rail so you have to squish your face to see down them. but I have an optic now so who cares.
>>
>>29302358
This.
Can comment on the auto version, I've shot one every I have gone to Vegas.
Yeah it's light and has a slow fire rate. I would prefer an mp5 over this (assuming I had to choose between them)
The one I shot had a two round burst feature, kinda neat but the slow fire rate really makes it pointless.

The bullets in the mag looked really fake in your first picture. Like the shitty imitation bullets they put in windowed airsoft mags to make it look like they aren't airshit.

What's the deal with the barrel/suppressor between pictures?

Very controllable, pleasure to shoot. Sights are nice and recoil is a very balanced rearward motion.

It's made by HK.

HK is overpriced. The UMP is overpriced.

From all overpowered shit in MW2
Like the

FAMAS
AK with Surpressor
L86 LSW with thermal and grip
M203 attachment
M203 with Danger Close
M203 with one man army
RPG 7 with danger close
Commando
COOMMMAANNDDOOOOO
Pistol with tactical knife and Commando
G18 Akimbo
M93R on long range
M93R Akimbo
M93R akimbo with final stand
SPAS 12
M1887 Akimbo
and not to forget: the Harrier

, the UMP45 was clearly overpowered and could beat any other weapon at any time at any range

honestly most of the starter/early weapons were the best in the game if you werent retarded. man those were tje days, so much anger
>>
Is it even practical any more?
Pdws weigh less
Are smaller
Have more stopping power
>>
>>29303073
This.

Unless you have a micro compact machine pistol that suit and tie bodyguards can conceal with their jackets without printing too much, then SBR's make all piatol calibers sub machine guns absolete.

Or smg's need to use pointed rifle like bullets in svaled down rigle cases instead of round or flat nosed pistol rounds.

So basically the FN-P90
>>
>>29302279
I like it but it seems kind of big for an SMG in a world where an SBR of a similar size will outperform it.
>>
>>29304247
That SMG is fooking huge looking compared to a full sized war shotgun.
>>
>>29302279
Apparently it's shit, dozens of PD's are dropping it.
>>
>>29302279
it looks cool but I hear it's bad because it manages recoil poorly. I'd still buy a civilian variant of it just because it's cool, though. The best gun is just the one you like, it's not like anyone here is some professional warfighter or some shit (and if you are, your boss is gonna issue you a gun anyway)
>>
>>29308531
>Unless you have a micro compact machine pistol that suit and tie bodyguards can conceal with their jackets without printing too much,
Why is this a concern? People guarding stuff are specifically there to provide a deterrent through armed presence. Concealing a weapon just means you're another dude in a suit, and people will be just as free to start shit as if you weren't even there.

This is why lots of military people in Canada don't like the thought of dropping the MP5 in favor of C8 Carbines -- the MP5 makes you look more "special forces" than the M4 knockoff, and makes guarding stuff easier because people don't fuck around with you in the first place. Having your arms concealed entirely just means people are gonna fuck with you or your charges even more.
>>
>>29308531
Why do you think this?

SMGs toss more grains at not that bad of an energy and a much lower pressure. Why would you need an SBR in a situation where you know the engagement distance is low?
>>
>>29302279
>asking people about a gun they have never even fired
>>
>>29303073
>Outdated just like every other sub machine gun due to the existence of the SBR.

So a Ruger 10/22 with a chopped barrel is better than a submachine gun?

Okay.
>>
>>29308568
This is not entirely true, concealment is good simply because you're not a target initially, basically if shit goes down you have the element if surprise.
>>
>>29308568
>makes guarding stuff easier because people don't fuck around with you

You again, not one of your theories has any basis in reality. And you're suggesting an MP5 serves as a deterrent more than a rifle? Idiotic.
>>
>>29308594
5.56mm, even in short barrels will blow through cover that would be stopped by pistol rounds...so you with an uzi thinking you have nice cover behind that crate?

Bang bang bang

I just shot right through the crate and your body juat slumps over.

If I was armed with an Uzi just like you, that crate could have absorbed some of that 9mm.

Also, if your wearing armor, just shooting .223 through a short barrel will go through your plate carrier, where my plate carrier will absorb and stop your 9mm
>>
>>29308645
They are all black scary guns.

Mp5's are not super menacing if anything, thanks to the anti guns, cops guarding a checkpoint with Ar-15's makes most normie no guns sheeple shit themselves.
>>
>>29308792
>cover
>crates
>.223 through plate carrier
Are you literally a 14 year old playing call of duty?

SMGs are for close quarters low recoil oper8ing not videogames.
>>
>>29305702
good enough for Rainbow Six to use in their missions.
>>
>>29308816
I tell you what, you bring your pistol caliber smg and I'll bring my MK-18 and we'll set up accross a warehouse and see who comes out on top?
>>
>>29308816
This is lie the fourth thread tonight where somebody brings up age and videogames instead of having an intelligent counter point. I thought night time /k/ was better...whatever friendo, there is a reason why SMG sales have dramatically dropped since the mid 1990's.

Hell, even the Canadians are starting to drop SMG's as carbine service rifles, are just as compact fir close quarters, can defeat armor and blow through barriers/cover if need be.
>>
>>29308816
Also I missed the call of duty fad during the early 2000's because I was deployed.
>>
>>29308858
>>29308879
>>29308884
Fuck off with your bullshit.

The reason that SMG sales are down is because SMGs have always been extremely niche items, an SBR has more versitility and uses the same ammunition as assault rifles.

Doesn't change the fact that pistol rounds are lethal at close range and that SMGs operate at a lower pressure and burn all their powder.

Also I wasn't just insinulating your age you tard, I was calling out the idea that you think a .223 will penetrate a plate carrier holy fuck.

J/k 0/10 not falling for your 3x samefagging troll posts.
>>
>>29308879
>>29308816
Really, west europeans and british police forces are the only ones who keep it up with SMG's to a large degree.

Once again most large and advanced militaries from the rank and file to special forces and American swat police forces have dropped SMG's for serious use except for maybe sub compact PDW's and even those are kind of rare and mainly in the hands of vip security and special snowflake agents in the field.
>>
>>29308917
Look it up. On you tube. Or better yet, just buy some plates and find out yourself.
>>
>>29308917
Well, somebody is "mad"...I may dare say "triggered"

You must be a no guns, new fag or under 18 because just last year they tried to ban green tip ammo claiming it was armor piercing, but multiple youtube gun channels femonstrated that even hunting .223 remington could go through armor.

Thus exposing the ban of greentip having no grounds to stand on as rifle bullets will defeat armor regardless.
>>
>>29308978

@ the engineering department:
>Well, the MP5 is cumbersome and expensive to make. Stampings and welding? Who even does that anymore? Let's design something more practical to sell.

@ the marketing department:
>Alright! Good idea. We'll say it's space age & modern. The next evolution.

@ the sales department:
>Although the gun costs 50% of the MP5 to actually manufacture, we'll just put the price point 10% below the MP5. Muh margin.

And that is the story of the UMP. The overpriced SMG nobody wanted or cared about.

so did everyone else. Had more fun with base runs and supressed pistols than anything though. Another combo would be the M200 and PP. After MW2 i like maybe 3 guns in black ops then the supposed improved balance just made everything bland, much like everything else about the games
