I recently bought a Lithgow LA-101 in .22LR so im in need for a decent optic for it, any recommendations?

Depends on what you are wanting to use it for, I despise cheap optics though so would suggest you pony up at least $600 for a scope.
Go second hand to save some $$$ if you buy decent glass it doesn't matter if its new or not.

I got the rifle just for general plinking and making it a bit of a bench queen.
i have budgeted like 600-700 but ill look into a second hand...and so do i, my friend has a 40 dollaridoo one he got off ebay and he thinks its great, but it looses its zero after like 50 rounds.

I was surprised by the build quality and just how nice the rifle felt.
I was reading that they were doing centre fire (which if they are as good as the LA-101) ill get one of those as well.. was thinking of geting a sako 85 but im more than happy to support aussie jobs

I would consider a Zeiss Terra 3-9. Cleavers have them currently for 419 which is very reasonable.

Spend another 150 or so on a set of good rings and you will have a rifle that holds its zero regardless of how many rounds you put through it.

It was smuggled back in parts in 2 duffel bags from New Guinea after WWII by 2 of my Great Uncles. Was handed down to my Uncle, then to me a few months ago.
Not sure if they fought with it or it was just one lying around. Haven't fired it yet apart from about 10 rounds at my Uncles' local range when I picked it up.

That's one of the reasons I want to get into handfuns, there's like 3 ranges 10-15 from my house as opposed to the hour or so drive to rifle ranges.
