I had my eye on one of these as well, but like anon, I was deterred because I kept hearing of it being a >gimmick gun. Never fired one, but I haven't a ton of cons about it either.
>>

I can at least say, I've yet to hear anyone online say anything bad about it(aside that the safety sticks out too much), and I put about 50 rounds through one myself with no problems at all

other then it being hideously fucking ugly there's nothing wrong with it whatsoever. If you like it, carry it.

The frame safety especially adds a lot of thickness.

so why even bother getting a gun with a safety
>>
>>29279807
having carried a 96fs for two years now, i can tell you that they are literally the best. i could draw my gun and take the safety off at the same time well before i could ever close my finger around the trigger. it's probably the only kind of safety i would want on a carry gun. either slide mounted or none. also, decocker is nice.
>>
>>29278914
In my experiences, you're more likely to disengage it accidently on the draw rather than failing to disengage it when intended.

Of course I own and shoot guns unlike /k/ so that criticism never gets parroted.

I can find people shitting on every gun, anon. If internet wisdom were all true, no one would use the AR for being jam-tastic, but in real life it doesn't hold up.
I fired a Sig that couldn't manage to extract properly, never made it through a mag without a stoppage. Are all Sigs bad? No, that was one lemon of a gun.
The PX4s I've fired have all been extremely reliable. I shot through 800 rounds of the dirtiest shit I could find (Tulammo) without failure. It has it's ups and downs as a pistol, but it's definitely not worse than it's peers.

They use it as a negative because they are Fudds and how dare Beretta make something that isn't main stream!

Yes, but many departments and, you guessed it, the military often have manual safeties as a requirement.

>>

>doesnt even reduce recoil like they say

>>
>>29279982
>reinventing the wheel for no reason is "good"
rotating barrels have been around since his greatness John Moses Browning patented them in 1897, and the Steyr 1907 was made with one.
I think it does reduce recoil- not that there's much to begin with in a large 9mm- and have noticed it's damn accurate. I can outshoot my 92, Glock and Walther with it., even if that's not a scientific test.

Nothing on my gun has broken, and I haven't treated it gently. Currently sitting at ~5000 rounds down the pipe.
>>
>>29280008

that must be why theyre so popular
>>
>>29280001

>>
Are there legitimately people in this thread defending slide-mounted safeties?
>>
>>29279982
They hardly reinvented the wheel. And your argument against it seems largely to be "it's different and that makes it bad".
>>
>>29277374

If you like it, and have spent some time shooting one, there is absolutely NO reason why not.

I carry a full-size PX4 in .40 cal. Shoots great, never have any issues. Backstraps can be changed out improve fit, nice build quality, and it has a nice balanced feel.

>it's such a good gun that I sold it

>I'm starting to sperg out so I'm just gonna call you an yurop
>>
>>29280418

>It's different so it's bad

No, it's overly complicated for no reason
>>
I mean they aren't terrible options, but it's pretty big for a CC gun - and the bigger the gun the less likely you are to carry it everyday. Some people will effectively carry a big gun all the time but you have to be able to conceal it if your state doesn't allow open carry, and you have to be comfortable with carrying that much bulkiness with you, or you're more than likely to leave it home.

I'd highly reccomend a thinner and shorter handgun, but if you can get away with it, go for it. I haven't heard of any major problems with it.
>>
>>29279843
No reason to intentionally seek it, but why be mad about a feature you can literally just refuse to use? I don't know why people are so damn obsessive about this.
>>
>>29277374
It looks pretty and you might scratch it.
Safety lever is on the slide and has to be pointed up while the slide recoils and slams backwards mechanically that looks kind of weak if you don't maintenance it regularly and forever and try to fix it as soon as you start to see a problem with it.
>>
>>29280473
It's literally no more complicated than the more common browning tilt barrel system. If anything, it's less complex because it has fewer moving parts in total.
>>
>>29279746
Well their not necessarily hatlrder to disengage, but its more awkward than a flip down like on the 1911 and USP.

It's a bad design. Walther can get away with it with the P38, but companies should just stop doing it.
