What's your opinion on the sig 2022?
I want one and if it really,costs under 400 why aren't they selling like hot cakes

I would guess its the same reason the fns series hasn't become popular. People dont simply know much about them or heard anything aboot them like they do a Glock or M&P l.
because DA/SA has largely become replaced by strikers.
but the 2022 is an AMAZING pistol. a bit expensive, magazine-wise, but a trigger 80% as good as a 226 while being polymer framed, light, and dirt cheap. They are the only polymer sig you should really consider getting.
If you're into DA/SA, or just want a good solid fun range pistol, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

the sig 2022 is almost 500 bucks if you buy more mags.So much for a "budget gun". i know mecgars exist and are much cheaper than factory sig but if your at a store and say i want more mags they will sell you the 40 dollar sig ones

Its a cheap sig. Not a "bad" one per say, but it feels like a knockoff sig but its goal was to be one for people on a budget who still want a sig. There are far worse cheap guns

there are arguably better quality, cheaper polymer guns. Most Sigfags don't mind spending the cash so the point of a budget sig doesn't really have as much of a market group

I really dislike Sigs in general, and I've shot some nice Sigs.
The only one I ever really felt an urge to buy is the cheapo SP2022. It felt nice. It doesn't have the numb trigger that the P22x series had, and actually extracted reliably. Pointed naturally and felt like a full size pistol should.
Imho, buying a P2022 would be like buying a Mercedes CLA.
It's not a bad pistol, but you're supposed to buy Sigs for high quality, not entry level products.
