What's the point in holding the magazine frame like this? Isn't it counter-productive to hold so far up like that, instead of holding the barrel?
I've seen some tacticool fags at the range toting that this is the best for SBR's, but how useful is it?

Its easier to animate the player model holding all rifles/subguns/etc. by the magwell instead of the handguard.
>>29273195
Magwell grip is for lazy people who dont like holding rifles.
Holding the support arm out is better in every respect except comfort. This is why you start seeing people's weapons handling and manipulation go to shit after a while.

more ready reloading maybe?
maybe less fatigue-inducing in your left arm?
(dont have any long guns cuz poorfag, so im probably super wrong)

What ever way works for you to get on target is generally how you should hold your weapon.
Thumbs down is usually good for just in case you are working with a reciprocating bolt/charging handle.
I don't use the grip myself, but some of my buddies do. It's whatever.

only post worth reading
however the fuck you wanna shoot your rifle, shoot it. If it gets you closer groupings, go for it.
>>29273250
I was trained to be as comfortable as possible when shooting so as to reduce fatigue. I don't think lazy is a good word unless their shooting is shit and they don't care.
>>29273195
It's worse for control, but it's more comfortable for longer periods of time. Sometimes, you just end up doing it unconsciously

The only gun I hold like that is my .22lr AR-15 because its more comfortable with the zero recoil. Wouldnt do it with other guns.

>whatever makes you feel comfortable
T. Range Coach

>trained to be as comfortable as possible
The more uncomfortable you are, the better your shooting stance.

Like grips on the magwell?
Retarded.

>Isn't it counter-productive to hold so far up like that, instead of holding the barrel?
Having severe burns is counterproductive to everything, anon
>>29273401
>Like grips on the magwell?
Vertical fore-grips you stupid bitch.

>rename something commonly used
>gets mad when others dont answer their unclear question
Foregrips are useful for helping you know what a dick in your hand feels like.
>>29273401
>The more uncomfortable you are, the better your shooting stance
What? So if I hold it straight out like a pistol my stance will be prefect

>MFW you don't know that (normal text) could have contradictory meanings
>>29273504
nah you gotta bust out that olympics stance
>>29273504
No.
But if youre getting "settled in" youre wrong.

Why are you such a fudd?
>>29273688
Because your dad cries when he watches me fuck your mom.
>>29273504
No dood, obviously you've got to be sitting in an airplane seat to get that perfect stance.
>>29273280
Well yes and no. A certain stance may get you on target, but another might do it more efficiently and faster.

MOJAVE!! THIS MAN IS YOUR FRIEND, HE FIGHTS FOR YOUR FREEDOM!!!

You son of a bitch.
>>29273493
>>rename something commonly used
Vertical foregrip is the common name you retard
>>29273195
I don't care what anyone on /k/ says, holding an AR or any other modern rifle like that is comfy as fuck.

underrated post
I'm going to go out on a limb here and says it's some low drag high speed method of making yourself a smaller target that someone at valve thought was cool
