17 or 19?

Which do you pick? Neither really qualify as concealable.
>>
>>29270944

G19 is concealable if you're average height man, and G17 if you're a big guy, even in a tee-shirt

I prefer the 19 because it's concealable for me and the grip fits my hand perfectly, with only the floor plate sticking out slightly
>>
>>29271143
>4U
>>
>>29270944

either.

difference in capacity is only 2 rounds, some people find the 19 more comfy to shoot, others the 17.

>19 not concealable.

bullshit. I'm 6' and 170lbs, I wear fitted but not super tight clothes and I conceal it fine.
>>
>>29270944
17 it just feels better to me
>>
>>29270944
19 and I conceal it just fine most of the time.
>>
>>29270944

You can conceal both of them. Shit both of them you can easily conceal if you appendix carry.
>>
>>29270944

>Neither really qualify as concealable.
Are you a manlet?

Glock 19 is plenty concealable. 17 is concealable enough.

I say 19. Fits hands just fine. Mag capacity isn't any lower, use a 17 mag, they still work. Zero advantages to a 17 for me.
>>
>>29271495
Thug life!
>>
The 17, mostly because I don't like the 19.

I've shot a 17 and liked it, a 26 and liked it, and a 19 which I didn't not like.
>>
Well, I have no real intentions on carrying either of these. I'm 5'10" and not fat, I'm sure I could conceal a G19, but I'd rather not shoot muh dick off doing appendix carry.

It would mostly be a range gun. I'm considering getting started in some local competitions, so I'm leaning toward the G17.
>>
19 is fairly concealable for a normal sized guy. You aren't hiding a 17, even on a big guy, without a coat.

19 is a great all around gun. The 17 is a great shooter and house gun. I shoot the 17 better due to more grip and longer site radius.

If you want a one gun option buy a G19. If you already have a little CCW pistol and want a house/ SHTF gun buy the G17.
>>
>>29270944
>Neither really qualify as concealable
With a shit holster this is true. Unless you're a manlet.
>>
SEALZ use Glawk brand Glawk 19.

Buy a 19.
>>
G17 has a larger grip. More comfortable for my hands.

Ian said Gen 4 when I asked him.

I bet you think appendix carry is more dangerous than 3o clock, too.
>>
>>29272455

I meant real evidence.
Not a forum post on m4carbine.net
>>
Personally i'd choose the G17 over the G19 because the grip fits my hand better, but if you're CCW i'd recommend the 19, as people have said above it's easier to conceal.
>>

17 is a better shooter
19 is concealable

That half inch in grip is a huge difference.

>>
>>29270944
Since you're not planning on concealed carrying, it's the 17 for me. It just feels better in my abnormally large palms, which makes for better shooting. The 19 always leaves part of hand hanging.

No it isn't. Grandpa glock can pretty much deliver the same results at 50 yards with a 17 as he can with a 26. The limitations of the firearm are far outweighed by the limitations of most shooters.

I think that a lot of people would believe it without having a strong source.
Just like yourself, for example.

Not that I really care though. I don't like either the sig or glock personally.
>>
>>29270944

I've handled both but don't personally own either (not 21 yet). I like the 19 a lot however I'd like to own both. I'm 6'5 with average/slim build so it'd be pretty easy for me to conceal it and 15 rounds is pretty awesome for a flush mag and I'm pretty sure you can put 17 mags in it too if you want.

Except that the difference in grip length makes the glock 19 vastly more concealable over a wider range of clothing options.

I have both, and prefer the 19.

5'10" 165 pounds, and the 19 is concealable. My 17 and VP9 (nearly the same size) are about as concealable as a boner in sweatpants. It can be done with a long shirt, but move wrong and it's time to grab the peanut butter.

the 17 because ive got big hands. I wanted to love the 19 and understand why it gets so much credit but I cant shoot it comfortably.

Also, I find 17s cheaper and easier to come buy because everyone wants a 19 or smaller. My g17 was only $290
>>
I've just gotten my handgun permit and I'll be buying either the 17 or 19 at the end of this month and I've flipped flopped so many damn times. I've held both and shot both and liked both. I think the 17 wins in shoot-ability but the 19 wins in concealability. I would like to shoot matches so that makes me lean towards 19 as that is typically the standard I think. But I lean towards the 17 for casual plinking
Life is hard
>>
>>29273224
Obviously...obviously I was referring to the shooting of them.
>>
>>29273837
Don't get both a 19 and a 17. Get a 17 and a 26.
>>
>>29274523
This poster is a skeleton and not trustworthy.

The 17 is a pointless size. Get a 34 and a 19. 26 is only really a good buy if you're a manlet and can't/won't carry a 19, which is better in every measurable way.

>>
>>29270944
G19 is my concealed carry gun
The size and capacity are both favorable in my opinion, and the finger grooves are the right size for my hand

If you can't conceal a Glock 19 you are a chucklefuck. It's easy.
>>
17L

IMPRESSIVE LENGTH.
>>
>>29276028
I wish they put out a 17L with an option for a solid slide without the cut out. I would be all over that.

There's no way the weight savings from the cut makes any significant difference in pistol performance.
>>
>g19 not concealable
Provided you're not an extreme manlet, 4-5 o'clock with canting will solve most compact guns, maybe a little poke out of the grip at secific body angles, but unless you're repeatedly bending and twisting or lifting your arms real high, no one will notice.
Or you can go appendix. But in super rare cases, you might blow off your dick.
>>
>>29276102
>There's no way the weight savings from the cut makes any significant difference in pistol performance.
the point of weight savings from the cut is that they dont have to redesign shit

i dont have the exact weight of a 17L slide but the slide weight of a 34 and 17 are the same
so the can use the same recoil spring etc
>>
>>29272556
Why not a 17L
>>
>>29276145
>Slide heavier by ounces
>Slightly heavier spring
>No gaping hole
The dynamics of the system would work out

I know that competition is the intended market for the 17L, and I know why they do it, but a man can dream
>>
>>29273525
I found an auction on gunbroker with a united states property marked 19. The seller claims it is from a recent order, but sadly they butchered it like fags tend to do. The frame was hacked up, and they milled on the slide.
>>
>>29276161
>they milled on the slide
probably a fake

You can get anything written on the slide, and the additional work suggests that it may all have been done at the same time.
>>
>>29276159
Lighter spring. Low powered ammo would cause a heavier slide to short cycle.
>>
>>29276201
Ah. I was thinking engineering wise (larger mass, higher spring constant, same vibration properties)
>>
>>29276248
>I was thinking engineering wise
No, you weren't. You could return the slide with a 1 lb spring. There isn't that much friction, you aren't lifting the slide. It also doesn't take THAT much to chamber a new round.

Heavier slide + heavier spring means you need MORE power to run the slide back.

What's a more common malfunction:
>failure to eject/extract
>failure to go into battery

Info regarding bolt weights and springs in blowback guns http://www.orions-hammer.com/blowback/

>Note that even a tiny 22 long rifle cartridge pushes on the bolt head with a force of about a thousand pounds, so you can utterly forget about springs (at least, any spring you could possibly cock by hand!), or friction, or magnets, etc.
>>
>>29270944
If I had to, the 19. The shorter barrel length means the round will have less energy built up when the bullet rips through my leg.
>>
>>29275545
yeah about that

>>
>>29278928

Love mine. I carry a 43 most of the time with +1 base pads. However, when I carry my 19 it is reassuring to know that one 19 magazine holds more than two 43 magazines. 43 is for every day, 19 is for when I can conceal it well enough or believe I may need those extra rounds (honestly, college campuses).

17. It fits my giant ass hands better.

A quick anecdote and good friend of mine did the same shit to his SW MP and it would not work with out a complete take down and cleaning. I still like the M&P series I jsut thint he glock is a bit tougher. At least I can say that mine specifically is.

>>29279833

I wanna hazard a guess and say it's because glocks by design are supposed to be functionally simple with the least amount of parts used.

The most interesting read about guns was the post by some guy who works at that Battlefield Las Vegas shooting range. They've reported glocks were the least troublesome pistols in their rental selection given how many rounds have gone through those guns with so many people renting them.
