Yes, red dot sights line themselves up "automatically". With iron sights you need to line up the front and rear sight perfectly, in a red dot the sight itself does that internally. Essentially with a properly zeroed red dot you put the dot on the target and the bullet goes where the dot is.
Its like a glass optic like an ACOG, you don't need tk line up several sets of crosshairs, there is only one set, just replace the crosshairs with a red dot.
Basically your picture is wrong because you lack a fundamental understanding of how red dot sights work.

The term "red dot" refers, generally, to any sight like an Aimpoint regardless of dot color. The more accurate term might be "reflex sight" or CCO (close combat optic) but even a sight with a green indicator is could generally be called a "red dot"
This is to differentiate them from iron sights, holographic sights, or more traditional magnified glass optics.
