Nothing really, early ones had poor QC the new ones are okay QC.

These days they arent coming into the country anymore so prices are going up, youre probably better off about buying something like a DDI for a couple hundred more
>>
Nothing really anymore. When they first came out they had shit QC, now its much better.

Just check for canted sights and other stuff you should check on an AK.

Neckbeards and weebs get mad that they still can't afford the cheapest ak and spaghetti on Iroquois bead weaving forums and the comment section of battlefield gameplay videos so they feel better about not being able to own something they have to convince themselves isn't worth owning

The odd part is in the real world, they're actually one of the few good non Gucci aks available.

What does QC mean, exactly? Quality control?

Also, how would I tell if an LGS has a wasr that was QC?

Quality control
>Also, how would I tell if an LGS has a wasr that was QC?
Canted sights, mag wobble, gun working overall, rust. Wasr issues are pretty obvious at the surface.
>>
>>29246349
I'm gonna be buying my first ak, a wasr, at a LGS.
Besides what you've listed, is there anything else I should be looking for before I buy?
>>
>>29246356

Ask them to check the headspace for you with a go and no go gauge. If they refuse, walk away.
>>
>>29246388
And if they do, then what? What should the headspace be?
I have no idea about it. I'm wondering if they do it and just tell me it's fine I'll have no idea if it is or not.
>>
>>29246398

if the bolt closes on the no go gauge or won't close on the go gauge, you have a problem rifle with a bad headspace.

If it closes on the go gauge and doesn't close on the no go gauge, you should be good.
>>
>>29246420
thanks for the detail, I'll ask them when I check it out

>>29246398
You dont need to have them check the headspace because thats a problem old ass wasrs.

Research how to take an AK apart then ask if you can pop it apart. Wasrs are a little rough on the inside but it cant hurt to look inside
>>
>>29246445

ALWAYS check the headspace on a rifle before you accept it. There is absolutely no reason not to. It prevents headaches from getting a faulty weapon in the long run.

If you go home to find out it has such a problem, good luck getting your money back or getting it fixed by Century.
>>
>>29246463
If he was buying a kit build or something in .50 or .338 id be with you but the shop probably doesnt have 7.62x39 gauges.
>good luck getting your money back or getting it fixed by Century.
I dont understand this meme, my friend broke a spring in a century pistol. He said it randomly broke and they gave him a UPS label, 3 weeks later they sent it back to him and it was fixed.
>>
>>29246485

Their stamped AK offerings are horribly shitty and I don't trust them to fix one correctly. I realize the WASRs are 100% imported now and no longer built from Romanian parts, but I still don't trust Century enough to touch them.

SLR-106 aren't made anymore famerino

wasr's serve their purpose.....some fanboi's just get mad because they think you should spend $1,500 on a bangy bang.
