The only handgun I own is my grandpa's old cz and I'd like to keep it preserved in working condition and get myself another decent handgun. I'm currently torn between the usp .45 and pic related. I've shot both and loved it, but am wondering how they hold up in the long run.
Also handgun thread

The USP would probably be better, in my humble but honest opinion.

Speaking from experience, the USP.45 is a great handgun. I would highly recommend it if you're willing to pay the extra ~$200
>>

The legion 226 is around the same price as the mk25 and I think it has a much better da trigger. Lgs had p226navy for 999.99 and legion for 1099.99...

Both are great guns and both will last a long time.

The USP is a fucking tank but I like the ergonomics of the Sig a lot more personally.

9mm is also significantly cheaper to shoot.

>paying $1,000+ for a bastardized P226 with a disgusting beavertail and SIG's oh so wonderful long extractor
Pass.

As much as I hate sig shills, the 1000 dollar boat anchor is a great gun. Would recommend it over usp unless you really want a fuddyfive handgun

Say what you want, it's been a great gun so far, trigger is great, and 2k rounds in without a malfunction so far. I'm not super crazy about the p224 slide release though.

Dear God in Heaven.

What sort of a behemoth of a man needs both Hogue grips and a pinky extension floorplate for a full-size USP?

Literally stop being retarded and just buy a glock with a better trigger. There's zero reason to pay for overpriced brand names when glocks can do everything just as well as those german shits.

my mk25 is my favorite handgun. It points well, has soft recoil, and has a fuckhuge capacity with aftermarket Mec Gar mags.

That goes without saying that the USP45 is also an excellent handgun. I bought the Sig over the HK because my dad already has a USPc in .45, and I thought that getting a full size USP45 was redundant

>he thinks any glock trigger is on par with a sig with a grayguns trigger let alone an srt.

I like glocks too but stop making me laugh
>>
Don't forget about the FNX-45. Kills the HK in capacity. 15 rounds of 45 is no joke! A very different gun from a P226 as well but still high quality. I love my FNX-45 and I've never had a buddy shoot it that didn't think it was the tits.

At least fondle one before you make the call, it's likely the least expensive option and possibly the best option! Trigger is great in single action!
>>
I wish I still have a picture of my USP45 and MK25 together, now I only have the MK25. The USP is a great gun but I prefer a 1911.

You could also get a USP chambered in 9mm.

That's another gun I would like to consider but my lgs/range doesn't have it for rental or sale. I might drive down to a bigger store this weekend if I have time.

Not OP but looking for a reliable compact meaning Glock 19 size for carry. I narrowed it down to P-01, P229 and USP9C. Kinda leaning towards the USP9C but I hate the sights.
