I just ordered 600 rounds of PRVI 9mm 147gr JHP from aimsurplus cause it's only a few bucks more per box than Blazer fmj. Does anyone have experience with it? What's a good way to test its expansion if I don't have access to ballistic gel? Fill up a bunch of milk jugs with water?
Did I goof?

Gold Dot is easier to find in fudd stores, and comes in +P flavors. Federal are dicks that refuse to sell the 20 round LGS boxes of 147 or 124 +P or 147 +P.

I'm not sure why PPU, Remington (in their UMC line), and Aguila make "JHP" plinking ammo, but that's all it is. It's not carry ammo. You can look up expansion tests done on youtube and other places. It rarely expands in test targets, and has the liability of not feeding in lower cost pistols.
