Hey /k/
Are Mosin Nagant M39's worth paying around $375 plus any kind of FFL transfer fee?
I'd be using it for mostly target shooting, but also to kinda show off since the rifles do have really cool histories to them.

>>29166129
No. Mosin Nagants are not worth that much unless it's a rare variant or in unissued condition.
>>
>>29166129
Yeah if it's in good condition
>>
>>29166164
Thanks, I had heard mosins were crappy but that these were the "best of the worst" basically. What would /k/ recommend as a good WWII era bolt action with decent accuracy?
>>
>>29166164
This.
>>
>>29166129
OP if you really want a Mosin Nagant, just keep searching until you find one under 300, if not under 250. I've seen some recently at gun shows for under 150 in serviceable condition, don't pay 375 bucks on a, lets be frank, garbage design rifle.
>>
>>29166129
honestly at that price i'd go for a mauser or schmidt rubin
>>
>>29166195
Mausers, Enfield, springfield 1903s
>>
>>29166195

I wouldn't say they're crappy, and their accuracy is more than decent. >>29166206 knows what he's talking about, I picked up a 1933 91/30 a few weeks ago for $265. It's worth it to get one, but not for $375 unless it's unfired and you're looking for a collector's piece. Don't pay that much for a range toy though.

I'm >>29166164
Btw.

OP, Mosins are obviously not the best rifle of WW2 or even WW1, but they are decent rifles for their price, but only if they're in the 150-200 dollar price range, 375 dollars is a bullshit price for a run of the mill mosin.

BUT, Mosins aren't necessarily worthless guns, I have one as my first rifle and it's never failed me once.
>>
>>29166217
1903's are expensive as fuck thanks to fudds in the 50's and 60's.
>>
>>29166260
Like OP, my mosin cost me about 200 dollars, and it's an unissued polish T-44 (M44 variant) in probably the best condition I've ever seen for a mosin. 375 dollars for a beat up one? Fuck that.
>>
>>29166260
M39s aren't run of the mill mosins. The Finns improved most aspects of the design when making them.
>>
>>29166310
Oh I know, I'm just saying that if he were to find some random mosin for similar price. M39s in good condition might be worth that much, I mean it really depends how beat to shit it is.
>>
>>29166334
Yeah, OP here and m not really sure about condition because I'd be buying from basically a surplus box shipped outa somwhere. It says there may be small cracks, loss of blueing about 15% on average and small rust spots but im bassically just seeing if it was a crappy one of a bunch i got, since its basically sight unseen im not sure.
Thanks already for all the imput

>>29166504
You know classic is selling vkt m39s for 350?
>>
>>29166251
Hes talking about M39s you dumb fucking retard
>>
>>29166576

No need to sperg out, I was just agreeing that he should wait and find something cheaper if he's just looking for a range toy.
>>
>>29166576
M39s are still shit.
>>
>>29166565
OP here
Just looked up classic m39 and this is basically what im looking for im just not sure if anyones bought from there and if that would actually be better, maybe with the hand select option?
