Daily reminder that PMAGs are prone to failure when loading on a closed bolt and that Magpul claims it's a feature.

So use GI mags that get ate up after 20 uses or spend the money on HKs. The fuck you want to hear?

Daily Reminder that OP is always a fucking faggot
>>
>>29154086
No need to remind anyone of what we already knew.
>>
>>29154069
It's less of a problem with PMags than with the AR receiver design in general
>>
>>29154097
Check OP again.

I just tried this with all the loaded mags I have in the immediate area.
I have shot with almost all of these mags before with no problem, but I'm not a super elite tactical badass, so I seat my mag and then slap the bottom of it.
Anyway, I have 5 pmags, 2x gen 3 windowed mags loaded with 30x each of Hornady 75gr bthp match, 3x gen 2 windowed, one fde loaded with xm855 and the same hornady. I also have 2x H&K 10-94 GVT ONLY! mags, one loaded with more of the hornady, the other with silver bear jhp, 7 random brownells, colt and unmarked GI mags, some with green followers some with tan, all have been through at least one gulf war loaded with silver bear fmj, and I also have one troy mag loaded with silver bear. They all do it on both of my lowers. Even my 10 and 20 rounders do it.
Even with just 4 rounds of plastic dummy rounds loaded it does it on empty mags.
Maybe just don't load your gun that way?
>>
>>29154765
Maybe just don't use garbage mags.
>>
>>29154775
I thought the HK and Colt steel mags were supposed to be the creme de la creme. My lancers do it too.
Only one Ive found thus far that doesn't do it with a couple rounds in it is the $4 tango down amazon special and the magpul 40rnd mags.
What do you suggest your majesty?
>>
>>29154069
Why do you think this is an issue when all you will ever use you AR for is poking holes in paper at the range?
>>
>>29154809
>>29154765
Also, I can't get the second round to kick out like that on any of my my magazines.
Except on my Vz58 mags, those the second round is just gently placed between the first and third and is free to do as it pleases.
>>
>>29154069
All of my AR mags do this. They are 28 round mags and we already knew this.
>>
>>29154069

So the fix is to pop the 2nd round down a bit? Cool, noted. After spending some time working reloading drills with dummy rounds, riding the charging handle forward is more likely to be my issue.
>>
>>29154069
maybe if he wasn't a faggot who used carbine gas it wouldn't be a problem

it pops up on mine and has never stopped the firearm from working
>>
>>29155199
elaborate on that first part, my trigga
>>

>>
>>29155231
carbine gas is shit and works the gun too hard
it's designed for 12 inch barrels
>>
>>29155271
how does gas system length affect mag seating tho
>>
> loading on a closed bolt
Why am I doing this, exactly?
>>
>>29155271
I happen to agree, but I didn't know this would have a direct effect on the weapon's reliability when reloading (overloaded) (p)mags on a closed bolt

I think he's shitposting
lets see if someone takes the bait
>>
>>29155300
because you fell against you bolt release as you dove behind cover while dropping a mag. Now as you load the new one, your bolt is closed.

I don't know man, use your imagination. Someday you might have to shoot somewhere outside the range.
>>
>>29155271
carbine was invented for 10.3
10.3 became 11.5 + moderater after feedback cause flash was insane
14.5 exists cause fuck weve got all these bayonets and we still want to use those
>>
>>29155325
>because you fell against you bolt release as you dove behind cover while dropping a mag.
And then a meteor hit and everyone died anyways.
>>
>>29155339
Don't pretend my scenario isn't plausible.
>>
>>29154069

>not wanting to load two rounds at once

It's like you don't want to double kill your enemy.
>>
>>29155345
Neither is my meteor scenario. There's a lot of shit out in space.

And some day I might get a blow job from Brooklyn Decker.....
>>
As has been told to you repeatedly, you can replicate this problem with literally ANY AR15 mag if you beercan it and slam it in as hard as you can. Fuck.
>>
>>29155442

He tried it with a shitty GI mag and it didn't happen.
>>
>>29155326
and then civvies said "I WAN DA M4" but also wanted to not pin a barrel so they made it 16 inches
>>
>>29155442
>I don't understand what the problem illustrated is
>>
>>29155461
And I'm trying it with a Gen2 Pmag right now and it's not happening. Neat, huh?
>>
>>29155348
>2 of those hooked together ARs, side by side like that Project Salvo FAL, shooting duplex rounds, while loading two rounds per gun

by god fund it

well since I'm not a mouthbreather, this doesn't really pertain to me. boop.
>>
>>29155520
Aww, is the little baby mad?
>>
>>29155463
dont forget midlength exists cause awb ends
fuck yea bayonet lugs exist again wait this shit looks stupid lets move that fsb up.
oh whats that better dwell time? yes completely intentional not a coincidence at all.
hell theres still not a standardized gas port size for mid length barrels.
>>
>>29155548
you are aware that Olympic arms originally invented it for low pro gas blocks, right?

And yeah, you can make a mini M16 with midlength A2 gas blocks
>>
>>29155474

He said Gen 2 mags don't have as much of a problem.
You didn't even watch the fucking video.
>>
>>29155520

>w-well... I don't ever want to reload mid-way through a mag a-anyway, b-b-baka!

rustled/10
:^]
>>
Everyone is doing it on 28. Load 30 and try. It should put more pressure and stop it.

Also, 28 in a pmag is retarded. They are made so you don't have to do that.
>>
>>29155616
It happens anywhere from 2 to 30.
>>
This gonna be the new leshitpost maymay?
>>
>>29155569
im fairly sure armalite started middies
>>
>>29155625

God I hope so.
It seems to really rustle the ARfags
>>
>>29155623
Try 31. I would but I'm gen 2 master race.
>>
>>29155653
Loading 31 will not bind the second round, but it will prevent you from loading on a closed bolt because the spring literally cannot be compressed far enough for the mag to seat.
>>
>>29155667
Just try it. Hammer it if you need to.

https://armalite.com/faq/why-does-armalite-use-mid-length-handguards-on-m15s-and-ar-10s/

googling olympic arms midlength only gun result is MPR 308-15 M which is new for 2015
>>
>>29154069
I couldn't get my gen 3 pmags to reliably recreate any of this. I got a failure of the mag to seat in the mag well a few times but I was really slamming them in there. I also couldn't recreate the issue where the second round displaces. My mages were manufactured late 2015 so maybe magpul changed something since this video was made.
>>
>>29154069
What I'm really interested in is the dive test Haley talks about:

Can you hit the deck with your weapon, slamming the mag against the ground, and fire without malfunctions? Can you put your entire weight on the mag and fire with zero malfunctions?

PMags were designed with this in mind, others maybe not so much
