Is it possible to create a gun that combines multiple aspects of all classes of guns (i.e. shotguns, assault rifles, marksmans, machine guns, etc.) into one package?

Fully auto slug shotgun
I guess. I don't really know
>>29146734
eurocuck please go and stay go
>>29146734
yes but it would be heavy and not very good at any one thing the original .50cal "sniper" rifles were m2s with scopes thrown on them but you could take a F/A AR15 with a heavy barrel throw a underbarrel shotgun on it and youve got a marksmens ar15 with a shotgun on it that can go full auto
give every soldier an lmg and you're pretty much golden, military shotguns are a meme anyway.

>Give every soldier an HBAR.
ftfy
>>29146762
what do you think about the replacement of M249 with m27?
>>29146762
give every soldier a mmg and you are platinum

All at once? Wait for phasers.
Practically, a sort of modular AR-ish lower receiver could work. The only constant would be the fire control group; everything else could be swappable by screws, pins or detents. The mag well would be the first thing to have options. Maybe frames for pistol, intermediate, shotgun and battle cartridges with inserts for specific magazine models. I'm thinking Glock, AR, Saiga and FAL to start. Slav models could come later.
Different upper receiver chassis types host easily swapped barrels of different lengths (save the DMR, that'd be bedded or something). Common AR and Mossberg barrels would be used. The optic rail would be a common feature. To keep things ATF friendly the upper can also host the stock so a "pistol" lower could be turned into a 16" carbine like MechTech. One issue would be swapping between blowback 9mm & gas op systems. The shotgun would be a pump action because I have a Saiga 12 and fuck dialing in that gas piston.
Showing up at the range with a pistol 9mm, carbine 5.56, 12 gauge and 308 all on the same receiver is really the only reason why this would exist.
The AR-100?

>>29147048
Can anyone tell me what that handle on top is for?
>>29147518
Carrying.
>>29146734
Maybe. 223 and 12 gauge. Comes in semi I think though.
I want one with a bifocal scope.

Add a pocket full of guided smart fuze slugs and a pack drone spotter for long range indirect fire. Welcome to the future.
>>29146734
There wouldn't be any advantage of integrating a shotgun, but you could take one of the LSAT LMGs that weighs about as much as an M16, add the ability to accept a detachable magazine for if you wanted to use something lighter/more compact/quicker to reload, and integrate a slightly more compact version of the Trackingpoint scope and you'd have your combination assault rifle/DMR/LMG. As guns and other technology advances, exactly that will likely happen, just as assault rifles were created to merge the functionality of the rifles that militaries issued with submachine guns into one gun.

Jack of all trades master of none, remember that.
>>29148550
this is unreasonable and gay.
>what is friction in the barrel?
>what is air friction?
>lolz let's increase the mass and surface area 300%
>future mane
It's like you don't know why rifling exists. This could work out to like 250 yards, then drop like a rock.
your designs are shit.

>>29148751
His or mine?
smoothbore rifle maybe, like the ACR.
Flechettes and sabots.
would be worse than dedicated shotgun, sniper, assault gats tho.

It doesn't have a shotgun variant but this sounds like what you're looking for

Yeah. No.

>>29146734
Totally.
>>29146734
Stoner 63.
And, to a lesser extent, the AR-15 with the incredible aftermarket that exists for it.
>>29146734
>assault rifle
liberal pls go
>>29148936
I'm not sure what you think this proves.
>>29149117
Even the barest, most cursory of searches would answer that for you.
>>29148446
No, not semi.
>>29147271
it was not a sniping platform.
the seeker feature was cool however.
>>29146734
Yes, but such a weapon would be too heavy for practical use and therefore usless.
There is no be all do all weapon.
You make something that is a jack of all trades it will be out performed by specialists of other fields.
Now go to bed.
No, that's how bad ideas like the OICW happen.
>>29146734
what if you could make a gun that also is a plane
