Should I get a S&W M&P 15-22, 10/22, CZ 452, or something else?
>>29142631
>CZ 452
If you can afford this, then yes... That is the obvious choice...
>>29142666
>obvious
Really? I can get the ultra lux for around 420 dollars. The M&P 15-22 is like 360 dollars, the 10/22 model I like is 220 dollars.

Ruger 10/22, since 1964 - most Marlins are also acceptable

Everyone has different preferences in firearm, it's not like every single person loves the 10/22 or it's the best choice. I know lots of people prefer the 15-22 lots prefer bolt guns etc.
find a used cz 453. better trigger than the 452.
>>29142778
I really like the collectors series second edition but why in the holy fuck didn't they thread it? Even if I replaced the barrel with a threaded higher quality one it wouldn't have the front sight.
>>29142800
I don't really care about the set trigger.
>>29142797
No
You don't get preferences until you get experience.
10/22
>>29142860
Then which 10/22 do you recommend? I really like the collector (and it may increase in value) but it's not threaded and I can see myself getting a suppressor.
The CZ is best, then Savage MkII but the magazines are crap, then maybe a marlin 60/795, then the rest are garbage and probably should be cleansed from the earth...
>the current year
>not having a last round bolt hold open
I mean come on, it is the current year...
>>29142925
Marlins are freedom group tho and have like no aftermarket. I do like the look of the xt22 but the freedom group thing is a bother
>>29142871
>and it may increase in value
no
You can completely rebuild a 10/22 with hand tools. You can always change the barrel later if you want.
>>29143214
Yeah but I won't get the front sight post on a different barrel to use with the peep on the collectors edition.
Can you remove the rear peep?
May is qt
.22lr bolt action or semi auto?

my only 22 is a cz 455 and i love it
but i kind of wish i had a 10/22 and that it had been my first rifle
not upset tho, ill probably get one eventually
>>29146131
This gun is pretty sexy desu
I also hate the stock 10/22 irons from what I can see so this would seemingly solve that.

If she dropped 15-20 lbs and grew her hair out she'd really be something.
>>29146155
She already is something, I mean I know I'd give her some extra stuffing.
If 10 22's are so good wbu does everyone modify them.if they were that great surely they would stay as manufactured. Or is that just a britfag thing? To for the cz

>>29146210
They're good but you just make them that much better.
>>29142631
Gonna throw out a rep for the 10/22. I have 2 of them, one from the late 1970's and one just purchased new last year. They're excellent platforms for modification and personalization, but even stock from the factory they're nice, precise rifles. They're also not too expensive, and .22lr is cheap as hell so you can go to the range and shoot all day for like $50.
>>29142925
I have an older savage mkII that i got for $137+tax from walmart. It was by first gun anf came with a 10 round magazine. Love the thing but the mag sits kinda loose but never falls out and has never failed to feed.
>>29149192
I would get this if I got the savage.
>>29149136
Can you get out to 100 yards easily with a 10/22? I looked up the accuracy of CZ bolt actions and I think that's going to spoil my thoughts.
>>29142631
92.7% chance that's a gal, right? Look at the corners of her mouth. Yow!
>>29142631
I own an old ass 10/22 and shot a friend's 455. Between the 2 for a first firearm I'd probably get the 455. The 10/22 isn't bad by any stretch, especially if you want a semi-auto, but his 455 was extremely nice.
>>29150390
Is there a noticeable accuracy difference? Which one is more fun in your opinion?
>>29142631
Get a ruger mk-ii or mk-iii
>>29151773
Why the pistol over a rifle?
>>29151457
I can't say there's a noticeable accuracy difference between the guns, but I was definitely doing better with his 455. We were only shooting out to around 80 yards though. The 10/22 is pretty fun if you just want to casually plink, but I always find working a bolt to be more entertaining. Anyway, that's my $0.02.
>>29151873
More fun, can get a ccw and carry it everywhere. More practical for everything except wilderness survival. You can learn to shoot with it and then move on to bigger and better things. Rifles are fun and good too but you wont end up handling it as often.. Just pulling it out to clean and lube it, stroke it and give it a girl's name, etc
