My Mosin was my first rifle I bought. Fun as hell to shoot and I can reliably hit a 8 ring at 100 yards with the iron sights.

is your budget less than 600 canada bucks? you could get a VZ although pic related is the more expensive version
>>
>>29094003

unless he's buying used and getting a fuck of a deal, you ain't finding a VZ for less than like $900, especially since new ones are going for like $1250 now at most dealers.
>>
>>29094003
yea my budget is below 600$ im a broke fuck

If all you want is a "decent rifle" just do the normie thing and buy a new production boltgun in a caliber of your choice tbqhwyf.

Mosins are fine but they aren't really super poorfag rifles anymore. If it's available in Canada, a Zastava M85 chambered in 7.62x39 is a good poorfag rifle.

>Comes with iron sights so you don't need to spend money on a scope, but have that option
>7.62x39 is piss cheap in the US, I'm assuming it is in Canada also.
>can share ammo with your SKS.
>>
you know you could build a gun that's better than a military surplus rifle for around the same price of 2-300 bucks right?
>>
>>29093229
Jesus Christ, don't buy a mosin. An autonugget is something, but unless you are willing to buy 1000+ rounds of new production 54R with it then it will be a paperweight.

don't suppose there's any poorfag rifle out there that sports a big enough round to take down a grizzly eh? ( the region i live in has a stupid amount of bears) but yea those rifles aren't to bad i'll look into them
>>
>>29094130
where?
>>
>>29094159
.308 new production boltgun of your choice.

Yes I know they're boring as fuck and all of them look the exact fucking same.

But they'll do the job.

Since you said grizzly someone's going to suggest a levergun in .45-70, but that would be a terrible idea because you're a poorfag.

>when Ruger has been making BX-25s for years now

Not that this is even relevant since OP is a Cancuck
>>
>>29094218
>BX-25

I just bought two.

Both of them keep misfeeding. The rounds nosedive into the wall of the magazine. Any idea what's causing it?
>>
>>29094218
Why does that matter? Canadians can have 25 round magazines for rimfire
>>
>>29094248
No clue. I have 5 bx-25s and I've never had any feeding issues with them at all.

>>29094260
I thought rimfire was still restricted to 5 rounds I guess.
>>
>>29094218
That's the point, mongoloid. Butler Creeks are legal in Canukistan, but BX-25 and BX-15s are "pistol mags" because they were sold after the Charger was introduced. You know, for the whole four Charger 22s in Canada.

Their 5 round mag limits don't apply to rimfire, but their 10 round pistol mag limits do. Thus the correct choice is a 10/22 with a 10" barrel and a folding stock.
>>
>>29094260
the mag was advertised to fit in handguns so it goes against the handgun mag capacity law so they were banned by rcmp. handguns of all caliber to my knowledge are limited to 10 rounds despite rim or centerfire.

>Vasily Grigoryevich Zaytsev was a Soviet sniper and a Hero of the Soviet Union during World War II. Between 10 November and 17 December 1942, during the Battle of Stalingrad, he killed 225 soldiers and officers of the Wehrmacht and other Axis armies, including 11 enemy snipers.
>Prior to 10 November, he killed 32 Axis soldiers with the standard-issue Mosin–Nagant rifle (effective range of 900 metres or 985 yards). Between October 1942 and January 1943, Zaytsev made an estimated 400 kills, some at distances of more than 1,000 metres (1,100 yd).

i would also like to know more about this
>>
>>29093229
OP, if you're looking at getting one or the other, I'd get the SVT first if you really have an appreciation for them, as they're slowly drying up more and more.

If you're not particularly interested in Russian surp, though, maybe look into getting a Norinco M14, or as many of anons have mentioned, some modern bolt gun. I hear good things about the Savage ones for their price.

i do really like the old russian guns but ill check it out thanks
