Practice dry firing, or finger your asshole more often

Same way you get any strength, exercise.

Plenty of grip trainers or just lift.
>>
>>29080865
What are some good recommendations for doing dry firing without wearing away the gun? I've been told to use an empty shell, is that okay?
>>
>>29080923
Unless it's a rimfire, just do it, doesn't matter. If you're really a bitch get a set of snapcaps
>>
>>29080923
Why would you wear the gun away?
>>
>>29081012
Dry firing is not safe for the gun if you do it for practice constantly.

You don't use your fingers for that.

>But Anon, you mean, YOU don't.
No matter how you do it, it's not something that's especially taxing.

I am monitoring this thread for finger strengthening exercises for the piano.
>>
>>29081148
Dunno about piano, but those grip trainers really helped me.
I just started doing it while using the computer, before I couldn't get more than 100 rounds out of my carry gun (a taurus .38, thankfully long since upgraded) at each trip to the range, after one or two days there was a noticeable improvement.
>>
>>29080850
What he says.

>>29081252
>couldn't get more than 100 rounds
Been there, done that. I had set a goal of shooting no less than 200 rounds per session from the very beginning (using my carry compact) - and my hands hurt like hell on last 50. Just three months of weekly training later, I could easily shoot 250 and wanted to shoot more even with the compact (and even more with full size), but well, I was on a budget...

>>29080923

There's nothing wrong with dry firing almost all guns. Or at least it's not going to wear the parts out any faster than regular firing.

But What I like to do is fold up a post it note enough to jam the action open a little. It's meant to simulate constant firing with single action/striker fired guns so you improve trigger pull and trigger release, but it's a good exercise for your finger itself too.
>>
>>29080835
Here's one: Search Amazon for "finger exerciser", there's plenty of options - both fixed tension and variable

Any of the exercises one does when they can't do an unmodified pullup will build grip strength.
Can't do a few sets of pullups? Do chinups.
Can't do a few sets of chinups? Do negative chinups.
Can't do a few sets of negative chinups? Flex hang.

you really want to know how to get better trigger finger strength?
>step 1. acquire handnugget
>step 2. acquire empty brass from hand nugget
>step 3. load cylinder with empty brass
>step 4.dry fire for 10-15 mins at a time
>step 5. gain hulk like strength in index finger
>step 6. remove kebab eyeballs with index finger
>step 7. profit

dryfire practice on a FEG PA-63. In double action it's like lifting weights to get your trigger finger swole. Also you appreciate every other factory trigger, no matter how shitty, so much more after a PA-63 workout.

I handled 3 separate Makarovs yesterday - holy shit, is the trigger awful.

I didn't know it was possible to make a gun with a trigger that bad. Mine is definitely like lifting weights

You literally cannot wear a firearm out by dry firing
Dry firing puts the firearm under the same stresses as normal operation

Very few guns exist that cannot be dry fired, one of which is the

What kind of gun do you have OP?

You can take the advice of these guys,

or I have one more suggestion. You can buy a customized gun with a lighter trigger like the trigger on my custom CZ-75 SA from the CZ Custom shop (see pic). That one cost around $950, though. I also have an EAA Witness Elite Match in 38Super that I got for around $620 that has about the same trigger weight as my custom CZ SA.

About the least expensive handgun I know with a competition level trigger would be the Ruger GP100 Match Champion.

Yes and no.

It is not considered a good idea to dry fire a gun without something for the firing pin to strike. This is more true with older guns. Most modern guns will be fine. Snap caps are cheap though, so you may as well buy a few.

police Glock or double action revolver. Dry firing them all day.

>>29080835
Buy a BB gun and 5000 BBs a week. Shoot the BBs. Become less weak.

Trigger job. Everybody shoots better with good trigger. Go to a smith and pay your $50 or whatever and get one.

Get a captains of crush gripper off amazon OP I'd start with both a trainer and sport if you have the money.

no

and I forgot to add, the 1903 is the gun you can't dry fire

It had the heaviest pull of anything I've ever held. I wouldn't even be able to shoot straight due to the force required to pull the trigger. Yours must be modified or extremely worn.

tbqh my grip strength is holding me back in deadlifts

I could only do one set of 285 today because my grip failed on the second set and I had to go down in weight.

What do?

That depends, 285 kilo or pounds?
>>
>>29090172
Use straps on your last set so at least you still work out the target muscles.
