One of the few job interviews I've had so far in life was awkward as hell because after learning I was Irish the interviewer decided to give me a lecture on how damn proud he was of his Irish heritage and how he supported "the cause" before it was cool. I then had to explain to him my family on my Mom's side were not only protestant, but really, really, active in Orangeism is both NI and the US, and how my great uncle organized the July 12th parade in NYC until the city shut it down because they decided the organizers getting beaten within an inch of their lives every year wasn't a good omen. Got the job tho and we actually joked abut it a few times.
