They hate the noise. Only have one dog left. Two years ago I had six. Two died of old age, one was intentionally run over, one was shot by some asshole, and one just died from some strange autoimmune disorder.
Cats have never cared and will happily attempt to assist me in the cleaning of any and all firearms.

If I had been home when the one was run over I would have. I was home and heard the shot but by the time I got outside and to my car they were gone. I live way out in the country so it isn't like this just happened in the city.
Talked to some neighbors and we all pretty much nailed down the culprit. He was given a not so friendly warning.

I live in the country. About two miles down a gravel road. House is back a ways from the road. I came home from town and found my dog dead in the yard and tire marks from where someone drove into my yard to hit him.
The one that was shot was shot by a .22. Heard the shot, came outside to get to my car but they were gone. Just saw that it was a white lifted 4x4. I didn't give much of a chase because I was more worried about saving my dog. He was shot in the leg and it hit an artery. He bled out on the way to the animal hospital.

Some asshole shot my dog too several years back. Shot him through the side of the dog kennel after climbing the 6' privacy fence around my back yard. Fired a full 12 shots of #4 buckshot.
He is now in jail for it too. And will be staying there for the next ~27 years before he's even eligible for parole.

Posted this many times here. He died April 1st. Took him to the vet because he wouldn't eat or drink. They opened him up and he was riddled with tumors. They couldn't tell where the tumors ended and the organs began.

I was dating a girl who was in the Airforce, since she couldn't have her cat on base I took a risk and let her bring the cat to live with me (incentive to get her off base a little and dates.)
Cat's name was Major. Awesome little fucker he was. She went away for a few months for training and came back to him sitting on my lap one day wearing a small FDE colored jacket i got my sister to sew that included the Major ranks on the sleeve.
I digress, but cat looked just as pictured. Especially that "fuck you" grin.
