Anyway there are tons of options in that price range. Get something from a reputable manufacturer in a style you like and go for it. Spyderco, CRKT, Kershaw etc

I've got this fake sebenza
actually very very impressed with the build quality, solid like my ZT.
The blade steel is shit, though. Tried to stab a hole in a beer can top and fucked the edge up, i was used to my ZTs elmax.
I want another one just to have in case this one gets fucked up.

Many people prefer tip up carry vs tip down carry. Find out what you like
Always be aware of where your fingers are when using it, and always cut away from you
Really happy with this knife for how cheap it was.
I also have the smaller one CRKT used to make, the one with the antler scales instead of micarta, but I generally relegate that one to around-the-house work because I'd be really sad if I lost it.

All good tips, thank you. Will I need any special equipment to keep it sharp? I've kept my Opinel sharp using a ceramic coffee mug, not sure if the Spyderco will appreciate that treatment.

Yeah I used to love my opinel no.9 but it is slow as fuck i also had a SOG Flash 1 at the time i sent them both back for a Kershaw Volt 2, i later got a Sanrenmu 7007 and a Byrd Cara Cara 2 and now my coated RAT 2, I seriously want a different steel next time around, i think the next knaifu will be the Spyderco Native 5 or the Spyderco Mini Griptilian

how do you get a knife to be so sharp you know if you touch the edge you'll get a bad cut? is it all about edge angle or the type of steel?
I have a swiss army knife i've run on a sharpmaker and although it glides through paper the edge actually doesn't feel sharp.

My EDC knife is an HK Espionage. It has a quick assisted opening blade that has excellent torque.
It's got a slim blade and feels like an excellent piercer. The clip is also real deep so not much sticks out over the top of the pocket. I wasn't able to find a plain edge version. Paid $17 for it.
My old EDC was a Kershaw Clash.

edge angle and how finely the edge is polished, how much metal is "behind the edge" contributes too.
You really need to strop your edge to make the most of it, run the end of your fingernail up the edge of the blade, it should feel as smooth as glass, if it doesnt, then strop it on the inside of a leather belt with polishing compound untill it does.
the type of metal can make a difference too, i find that my basic high carbon steel knives like my opinels and some of my kitchen knives feel scary sharp along the edge and will "bite" into things easily, while my stainless blades sharpened and stropped exactly the same way will slide over things rather than bite in if you only use light preassure

I'm in the UK and you can carry something that is 3 inches or less and non-locking and non-fixed 'without good reason', but I still hear people getting hassled about it if they get searched.

Be mindful that alot of pocket clips break kinda easy (gerber, kershaw, spyderco, callumus) I've broke alot of clips by them catching chairs, counters, etc keep them tight knives loose in your pocket are a bitch. Also I'm a lefty so I keep one in left and right pocket

Not suprising since the Drifter is made in china and Ranrenmu is an OEM supplier.
