Anyone else in /k/anada soon to be out of work? I live in an oil and gas town and probably going to be losing a shitload of hours pretty soon, which means I'm probably going to have to start selling my only valuable possessions - guns. At worst. At best I'll probably have to not shoot because apparently the price of ammo is going to go through the roof.

economy pls

OK guys, this needs some serious attention, tried creating a new Canada Thread since it was MIA but this one popped up pretty fast.

Re the whole liberal.ca/realchange/guns thing with the insultingly transparent attempt at further gun bans by adding unrelated, biased & uninformed members to the Canadian Firearms Advisory Council like women's group advocates (this has fucking enraged me to the point of political activism to this day)

Libs are doing a live public Q&A via twitter, tomorrow Friday 12th between 1pm and 2pm, #First100 @JustinTrudeau

I know Twitter is gay and DudeWeedBro is going to be under a shitstorm of grievances on all issues across the country, but really, our issue is not even an issue. And therein lies the problem.

The gun rights debate is not even a debate in Canada, we have no national organisation properly attempting to protect our rights, we are a completely unvocal minority. Laws get passed under our noses, we lose rights to our property, our safety is steadily decreasing. We never do anything about it because our instructors teach us "sit still and vote", making waves will only damage us.
Yes, but really, no. They're coming for us, slowly AND steadily. These measures are complete transparent, pandering bullshit and it, is, OBVIOUS.

The kind of obvious that any amount of attention will help not hurt, at this point it's not " conservatives want guns" it's "Canadians want democracy". Do you really think DudeWeedBro's current positions will hold up to any kind of public scrutiny?

A few hundred anons denouncing this policy will be a battle well won. This is literally the minimum amount of effort you can put into.defending your and your kid's rights

He will not get re-elected. He garnered huge support from young voters by promising to do something radical: legalize marijuana. He completely destroyed any political capital he gained when he reneged on that promise less then 3 weeks after getting elected.

Now that he has confirmed he will break his promise to legalize marijuana, he just has his nice hair and his father's name.

It's funny because most the people who voted for him are still in denial about the legalization thing, that or they don't follow politics at all and don't even realize he went back on what was basically the only campaign promise he had.

>There's a reason why smoking weed in Colorado and Washington are still federal crimes
So, what you are indicating is, that state legalized weed use is still a federal crime, and they jsut aren't enforcing it?

Meaning they are pretty much saying "We tried nothing, and are all out of ideas!" and claim they are not violating the treaties, just not punishing violators?
>>
>>28886777
They wouldn't, they know they'd be sent packing right back to Syria if they voted for anyone other than Trudeau
>>
>>28886670
Isn't it still ultra vires on the stateside?

I mean, sure, a state can go "X is legal here!" But on a federal level, the gov't can go "Nice law, but I raise you this mega-law that applies to the whole country, therefore trumping your teeny weeny state law"
>>
>>28886784
The way I understand it is the states themselves aren't punishing or enforcing the federal laws, but if some dude smoking weed ever got caught by a federal agent he'd still be in deep shit.

Naw mate, everyone gets confused because of the separate section that talks about interstate commerce. I'm talking about Article VI, Clause 2:
"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding."

I agree about the trigger lock, but the article said the rifle was a .30-30, which most likely means it was a lever-action with a tubular mag. I'm not familiar with any detachable magazine .30-30s- anyone have a suggestion?

Where the fuck have you been? Harper has literally retreated from public life, aside from taking a few selfies last week. He doesn't even show up in Parliament to do the job that he's being fucking paid to do, as an elected MP.

Stop sucking on the Harper cock, and you'll realize that bad taste in your mouth isn't from the liberals.

My sincere apologies, I kinda just went into full rage mode, and will delete those. I've been simmering with rage for the last 3 months, since my 'best' friend ripped me off for 2 grand.

I'd like to get a Tokarev actually. And a Makarov. But can afford neither (due to reasons that were compounded by the above).
>>
>>28896776
That's a real shit thing to happen. I hope that you can get the money back somehow, but the betrayal is a harder thing to deal with.

Tokarevs are neat little guns. I like that balance between sleekness and a sort of tough look that they seem to strike so well.
>>
>>28896776
>since my 'best' friend ripped me off for 2 grand.
I know that feel bro. My "best friend" decided since he isn't around and can't find a subletter he just won't pay rent on the apartment anymore and disconnected his bank account that he was using to direct deposit the rent money. He apparently thought if he just didn't pay the landlord would forget about it. Now if the landlord doesn't get rent by the 17th it's off to court for all of us.
>>
>>28896842
It is.

I love Canada but with how completely fucking dumb people are with determining our firearm laws, Trudeau the child being in power for years, the oil market dying, TPP looming... Absolutely nothing to look forward to.

Even with my wife, I married a girl who was over here for a while studying in Canada. She taught herself English with Dutch as her first language and she speaks English flawlessly. We've been going through the immigration process for ages and we are still waiting for it to progress, then Trudeau goes and brings thousands of people who mostly don't speak a word of English over that get an interview and they're good to go as citizens.
Do you have any idea how furious that makes me?
2015 and 2016 are the worst years of my life so far, I just want a reason to say I'm happy with Canada.
>>

Very. He came to me when I was depressed after my grandmother passed away, which just makes me cold with rage toward him.

Thankfully I have bank records and text messages for evidence, so if it comes down to it I can take him to small claims court some day.

>>
>>28897396
Sorry to hear about it bro. Had similar experiences with immigration in my family. Immigration is a fucking joke for working honest people, if you're a special """refugee""" they push you through.

What keeps me going is how beautiful our country is and how there's still some of us with some sense left. Things will turn up eventually. I hope.
>>
>>28897396
I have no doubt that some hard times are coming, but (and I'd mostly forgotten about it too), our situation now isn't so different than back in the early 2000's (I graduated 2002 and got my first job that fall). Our dollar was even worse than it is right now. We're probably in for a rough few years, but there's nothing to lose hope about. And tell me more about how you're furious at a bunch of people who's country has been bombed to ruins, and who would be executed by ISIS if they weren't simply killed by collateral damage first, are getting 'unfair' treatment?

And I'm not happy with Trudeau breaking his damn promises either, but I didn't really trust him to keep them, and voted NDP (mostly out of loyalty to Jack Layton).

And I'll get mad about what dumb people are doing to our gun laws, when they actually get around to doing something.

I have absolutely nothing against the people who are being brought over that want to become a hard working citizen of the country. Good for them if they don't want to be like the first wave of fucks who said "We hate this hotel, where's our house you promised?"

Yeah, they're prone to jamming when you use those low scope mounts. The CASM from m14.ca mounts is higher up to give the casing extra room to eject. You need to remove the rear sight, but you can easily put it back on.

A good bullet to start reloading with is 168gr sierra match kings.
>>
>>28900359
I put a CASM mount on mine and the day I took it out I had like three failures to eject. I'm not sure if it's related to the mount, or scope rings, because I just realized that the knobs are on the right side (doh). Or if it's ammo. Was shooting Remington Cor-lokt or whatever it was called.

The other potential problem was I think I might have had shit in my gas block, but that shouldn't affect ejecting... or will it? I haven't shot the thing in like 7 months

1991 was the peak of homicide and violent crime rates in western society. Crime has been falling ever since. There are many factors that contribute to this, but the most prevalent one is the Babyboomers (fuck those old bastards to death). Basically there is an age range where people are much more prone to commit violent crimes (approximately 16 to 35). The baby boomers started to come out of this phase in their life in the early 1990s.

Eh, at least that's what I learned in my Criminology courses.

That is the biggest complain about the 64; apparently no one has ever made any magazines larger then 10 rounds.

If you are handy, you should be able to cut the bottom plate off a second (or even third) magazine and weld/braze/glue it to the first. It's tricky to do correctly and you'll have to make your own springs. There are a couple of youtube videos showing various nig-rig solutions.

Cooey model anything for 80$. All cooeys have a fixed price of 80$ or free if you happen across a cache of them in a barn

arent most cooeys shotguns or .22s? I should mention that i do already own inherited firearms and one that was bought for me, being a savage 99, a PA-08, and a cooey sure shot.

SKS. Cheap, reliable, do-everything, and fairly idiot-proof. And they're pretty sexy.
>Get SKS for 200
>Get a few hundred rounds
>Gel some CLP and Hoppes, Q-tips, patches and rags.
>Look up Crown Land in your area, or find someone who has a private field or something
>See if you can shoot so much the gas tube cover bursts into flames

How do you import a gun from the US?
>>
>>28907892
First you need an FFL and good importer who your on a first name basis with, then you have to convince an American he can sell it to you. Usually they do once you day you have an FFL. Then you just got to deal the shitty currency, import fees and gst.

Contact IRUNGUNS or Aztec armory

Importing into Canada is not the problem; as long as it's non-restricted it's a breeze. The problem is exporting from the USA and dealing with their ITAR bullshit. I would honestly contact the ATF or the US Department of State and ask them directly what they need on their end.

Go with aztech armory, they're great, they handle all the import shit for you, they're fees are pretty decent, and communication is great, if they can't import something for you and you already payed, they'll give you a full refund in the form of credit towards your next purchase

I really wanted one but I can't justify more restricted guns. I never feed the ones I have.

Has an SKS from Lever, doesn't have a car.
