So I'm getting my tax return soon and half is going to a rifle. Can any of you bullpupers tell me about your experiences? More specifically tavors and augs. Also does anyone know where I can find this Aug configuration
>>
The Tavor is fucking great. Battle proven in Israel, works great with the Meprolight sights, pricey but worth every penny.
Fully ambi as well.
>>
>>28852352
Get an AUG.
I held one.
I want one.
My shoulder feels wired not having one.
The Ergos are sex, it's weight is nice, it's ambidextrous, and did I mention it feels like sex?
>>
>>28852378
>>28852377
Damn right out of the gate!

So here's what I've found so far
>Length
very similar

>Parts
Tavor parts exist, but it's too new for a good supply
Aug parts are available, but they ain't cheap

>Warranty
Tavor has a one year
Aug has no discernible clear warranty, but have seen pure conjecture that they are servicing even the early 80s Augs

>Ergos
Tavor takes the overall package with a nicer amphi setup and mag release placement
BUT
Aug has a lot of happy users as well, but the mag release is a problem

>Mags
Only going NATO style so IDGAF

I just want an AUG and I think others would be happy with them as well.

I'm still pissed that Steyr refuses to do another production run of the original A1 style.

If I wanted railz railz railz I'd buy a third AR.

How'd it feel? Like molesting an angel?

>>28852741
It's sad to think we'll never get to use all the AUG configurations.
>>

No, more like an angel gladly falling into my arms and sighing because she knew that's where she needed to be, shortly before cuddling and fucking.
And then more cuddling because why the fuck not.
Also, dinner afterwards.
>>
>>28852800
Did you get a chance to hang it at your side? Been reading some pretty interesting reviews that say the smooth form factor makes it nice for rucking.
>>
>>28852839
Nope. Sadly I didn't. It was my LGS-bros personal baby.
It was an old microtech one, so it didn't have the nice AR pattern magwell that I would want, but I'll be damned if it didn't make my decide to skip getting an AR to fill my 5.56 need right there.

Aug
Love the way it disassembles, (makes cleaning a breeze) stock trigger feels better to me($30 upgrade makes it even better) grip angle and size is better.

Tavor
Hate the plastic, lots of sharp edges and feels strange (like abs plastic compared to pmag polymer) strange recoil impulse (maybe I just need to shoot it more) overall feels bulky compared to the aug.

Also the thing about Tavor face is real not bad unless you shoot suppressed and unbearable 9mm suppressed

End of the day they both work just fine but I feel the AUG is a better design
>>
>>28853415
How about weight? Does the AUG really feel more quality or is it just a mind thing? How the parts for both? Any word on the warranty for AUGs, the total package of something is very important to me and I sincerely doubt that an Israeli backed company would be making a better warranty offer?

$1800 plus $500 for the scope

No they are working on a .308 atm.

They make quality stuff. My 2nd K&M is already inna mail.

Any of the big 3 (AUG, Tavor, FS2000) will be good.

The FS2000 is no longer in production and is quickly becoming a collectors item, so that may affect your decision. IMO it is the best of the 3 though.

The Tavor has the biggest aftermarket and is the cheapest and has the best STANAG mag compatibility.

The AUG is the middle of the road (to me). But it has the most diverse configurations. You can get one that takes STANAG mags, or one that takes the superior Aug mags. You can get one with a 20in barrel, or 16in (Or 24 but those are pretty expensive).

Also, you're going to need to put some money into an optic no matter what. The iron sights on these rifles are shit/non-existent.
>>
>>28856221
>No they are working on a .308 atm.
Why when KT has had the superior RFB and the DT MDR is coming out in a few months? What is the selling point of a KM bullpup in 308?
>>
>>28856317
>Why should we sell pepsi when coke is already out there?

Why would you let a competitor dominate a market? That's dumb. Also the RFB (great as it is) is dropping off the market....just as it's becoming readily available for the first time since it was announced in 2007.

RFB is a piece of junk, good in theory sort of thing.

The K&M system is well received and I assume they want to compete with the ridiculously expensive other .308pups coming out in the near future.
>>
>>28856343
>Also the RFB (great as it is) is dropping off the market
I know, I'm pretty sure I told you this a while ago

>Why would you let a competitor dominate a market?
Because the market of .308 bullpups will become saturated before they get it out the door. There arent many semi-auto bullpup 50bmgs if any in the US.

the price is fine, you're the type of person everyone bitches about on armslist.
>>
>>28856444
>>Saturated market
Considering they've sold about ~7500 of them, and they're currently going for almost dealer cost on gunbroker, I'd say the market for them is saturated. The M17S however in no way improves on what the RFB brings to the table, is in fact a step backwards, unlike the MDR with its caliber conversion and that the DT brand brings hype with it.

I would wait for the MSBS-B and MDR to come out unless you have to have one right now. Only bullpup I fired was a Tavor, and it converted me to a buttman. All the weights in the ass, so it points better than the 11.5" "other" AR-15 I've used.
>>
>>28856526
>So tell us shill, how is the M17S superior to the RFB.
Im not sure your talking to who you think your talking to. I just wrote about the RFB being good in theory but keltec fucked it up and also recommended the M17S.

How is that being a shill? If anything you are being a shill for keltec rn.

I wanted a 5.56 bullpup... That didnt use keltec's shitty polymer. Also, I didnt like the design and saw the strange ejection being a future issue, FAL magazines are stupid as fuck to be using in a modern .308.

Hmm what else... also after a few hundred rounds I decided that .308 in a bullpup is fairly retarded. Until then, Ill stick with a 5.56/.223

The trigger on the M17 is godlike. Unmatched. They use aluminum and steel instead of polymers. Take down is a breeze. Three lug bolt, heavy duty innards, been reliable as my AR's.
>>
>>28856662
>Im not sure your talking to who you think your talking to. I just wrote about the RFB being good in theory but keltec fucked it up and also recommended the M17S.
And how did KT fuck it up?

>That didnt use keltec's shitty polymer.
No guns confirmed, almost every poly gun is nylon 6 or nylon 6/6. Also confirmed for having never fired either a M17S or RFB, enjoy burning the shit out of your face without a plastic cheek rest.

> saw the strange ejection being a future issue
You can shoot them straight up in the air and they work fine. But side ejection where you cant shoot it off hand is somehow superior?

>FAL magazines are stupid as fuck to be using in a modern .308
FAL mags are designed to be used with a tilting bolt, and it would be retarded for KT to make a proprietary mag.

>Hmm what else... also after a few hundred rounds I decided that .308 in a bullpup is fairly retarded
So you basically couldn't afford to feed it.

Ah... Jesus christ.

1.)
Everything keltec I owned self-destructed on me and I really hate their products. Ill post a pic of my SU16 that self-destructed if you would like evidence.

2.)
Keltecs polymer is shitty. No fucking shit most guns use polymer. Glock polymer is amazing, as is steyr, and IWI, and most reputable companies

But keltec's whatever formula is like fucking cheap mattel plastic.

3.)
Per couple hundred rounds of non-bench usage you will get one hung up in the ejection chute. Good in theory not in practice.

4.)
They dont need proprietary magazines? They could have easily used AR10 pattern or something similiar and still currently widely available on the market with many options available.

5.)
I have plenty of .308s, cost is not an issue but generally bullpups dont have much weight in the front to offset the fact you are firing .308.

Im not say dont buy keltec or an RFB, but I am saying my personal experience with all things keltec is less than stellar.
>>
>>28856847
>Keltecs polymer is shitty. No fucking shit most guns use polymer. Glock polymer is amazing, as is steyr, and IWI, and most reputable companies
They're all made from the same shit noguns, nylon 6 or nylon 6/6. KT uses Zytel (nylon 6/6) the exact same thing Steyr uses

http://www.steyrscout.org/general.htm
>Stock: Textured matte finished gray Zytel with black panel inserts and integral bipod for 7.62 mm and 7 mm - 08. Black for .376 and Tactical Scout.

>Per couple hundred rounds of non-bench usage you will get one hung up in the ejection chute. Good in theory not in practice.
What are you even talking about? Are you thinking of the case mouth getting stuck on the upper feed ramp? The only ejection chute issues I've heard about from years on thektog.org were with the first 50 or so that had black chutes, pretty much every RFB has a stainless one.

>They dont need proprietary magazines? They could have easily used AR10 pattern or something similiar and still currently widely available on the market with many options available.
AR10 mags arent compatible with a tilting bolt... hence why they used FAL mags, because the FAL has a tilting bolt. What do you have such a hatred of FAL mags?

>I have plenty of .308s, cost is not an issue but generally bullpups dont have much weight in the front to offset the fact you are firing .308.
Whether the weight is in front or back doesnt effect recoil. And if your shoulder hurts then just get a comp.

> Ill post a pic of my SU16 that self-destructed if you would like evidence.
I'd be interested in seeing it.

>your pic
oh wow, a Sig716 with no sights and rail covers, you certainly have your priorities in order. Also iron your flag.

>my personal experience with all things keltec is less than stellar.
There are plenty of legitimate issues with RFBs you could have brought up, but so far all i've heard is that you want a unballanced gun, and that .308 hurt your shoulder in a gun was a bit over a pound lighter than your Sig.
