I think its honestly 4chan culture itself. Proliferation of words like 'cuck' and how everything is 'meme' this and 'meme', as well as the constant whispers of /pol/ are collectively bringing every board down. Day by day crashing this board, and I don't think anybody will make it out.

Oh, I actually did this once.
That sling was sturdy and well made, but the swivels to which it attached were not that great. Plus I was gifted the sling that was supposed to be on the rifle to begin with (SKS).

They're both Simonov designs, and I'm pretty sure the PTRS came first because it saw some use during the war. It's possible he came up with the SKS first, but the PTRS is certainly what came about first.
