Has anyone gotten a refund yet?
>>
Yer mom apparently won't give them without a reciept
>>
>>28713489
I called them last week, still waiting -_- from what I read they got way more returns than they though they would get. It got to the point that the postal service quit delivering and asked them to bring a truck and pick up their returns.
>>
>>28713489

wut happened?
>>
>>28713489
Tracking shows that mine was delivered, but I've heard nothing from them.

My bet is they'll sell all the aluminum for scrap, then declare bankruptcy
>>

I doubt it.

why not? the reason its a subsidiary, and bankruptcy itself, are simply accounting procedures.

were you sleeping in bus101?
>>
>>28714328
they got caught knowing that their sights, when exposed to heat, cold, or moisture won't hold zero. making them as useful as duct taping a stapler to your rifle. They knew they were fucked up and still sold their shit for years.
now you can send your shit back and demand a full refund for whatever you paid (or whatever you tell them you paid as long as it's close enough)
>>
Mailed mine in just before new-years. Got an e-mail last week saying it was received and my refund was being processed. Nothing since.
>>
>>28713489

I'm just glad that i bought a Aimpoint H1 micro instead of an eotech.....
>>
>>28714423
kicking myself for not doing the same
>>
>>28714423
>>28714541
Got myself an aimpoint T2 year ago and couldn't be happier .
>>
>>28714423

In the optics world, Aimpoint is the rule, everything else is the exception.
>>
>>28715474
Hows it hold up vs the T1? Have you used both?
Obviously both are going to outlive you but as far as user experience I guess.
>>
>>28715479
Yup
>>
>>28715480
I haven't used t2. You said it bud, this is waaay above the range warrior needs. This thing is absolutely indestructible, I got larue mount for a perfect cowitness. Only downside was that after looking through it I realized I had astigmatism haha

>>

No, I like my 512 so I'll probably just keep it.

even though it's gonna shift and be useless?
>>
>>28715760
It hasn't so far, I doubt it will.
>>
>>28715760
>even though it's gonna shift and be useless?

To be fair, its shifts between massive extremes, and you can always rezero.
>>
>>28713489
Nope, and I'm not holding my breath.
>>
>>28715788
You realize that the first time you get in a massive Bond-like firefight inside an arctic volcano, that Eotech is going to be useless, right?
>>
>>28715818
lol, nah the temp ranges aren't that extreme. 110+ and below freezing

Its held up fine to michigan winters for 5 years, I like the reticle and fov so I'll take my chances.
>>
You think now I can buy an EoTech for really cheap? Temperature extremes won't be a problem.

No. Still 450-500 American. Aimpoint prices have gone up by $200 though.
>>
>itt fanbois who dont understand internal ballistics
For the same temperature range, a 20" barreled 308 gun will have a peak pressure difference in excess of 13 kPSI and a velocity difference of ~240fps. Over that range you have to rezero no matter what.
>>
>>28715826

by error ranging from 12 MOA to more than 20 MOA
LOLOLOLOLOL fuck that shit. a cool looking sight is shit compared to being able to defend yourself

I'm a police officer and was rammed by a dude high on bath salts during a vehicle pursuit. Wrecked out into a barrier and my trunk popped open and at some point my rifle in it's soft case got ejected from my trunk. The reticle actually works, it's just the battery compartment that's busted so it can't hold a battery in it.

On the plus side, BCM repaired my rifle for free and shipped it back 2 days after they got it (it was shooting the dirt about 20-30m down range). Aimpoint said they would fix my optic, but that was like a month ago and I'm still waiting. Using a shitty 1033 CompM2 in the meantime.
>>
>>28714384
Too big to fail, amirite?

After this shitstorm, L3 will be doing everything in their power to dump the eotech name. If they don't, they're even more stupid than eotech's leadership itself.

The difference is EOTech does not return to zero when returned to the temp it was zero'd at. Your rifle does.

I know this is sleazy, but I bought my 553.A65 on sale and am returning it for MSRP +$15.00, then I'm gonna buy a new Eotech for less than half of what I paid.

The difference is the problem is far exaggerated with the eotech design because of the amount of surfaces the reticle reflects off of, each one magnifying the shift.
An Aimpoint is just a light shine onto a lens.

>>28716035
Was a bit of a wild ride, but I came out of it with just a cut on my pinky (not even sure how it happened) and a bit shaken up. Crown Vic's never cease to impress me.

Since no one ever gets a refund I'm still waiting for my chance to buy a EXPS2 or 3 for under $400
>>
Want an Aimpoint to cowitness rear MBUS and front sight post perfectly on a LE6920.

Which one and what mount should I get?
>>
>>28716180
The guy I spoke with said he'd help me out after he finished with SHOT Show, cause all the CS reps were there. Then they got snowed in and flight delayed. Said he'd get with me by the end of the week.

So I dunno if it sucks or it's just a perfect storm of shit going wrong.
>>
>>28716132
>being unable to read a thread before posting
you should adopt a trip, you'd fit right in
>>
Not sending either of mine back. Had then both for years with no problem. No shift no nothing with weekly range trips (outdoor range rain, snow, or shine) only time I have adjusted them was when I first put them on the rifles. They have been dropped, kicked, soaked, covered in snow Never had a problem. Love the sight picture. I'm keeping mine until they take a Shit. Then I may buy another. By the way they are a 552 and a 512.
>>
>>28715479
LAV please go and stay go

idk why you guys even fuck with optics my famas is perfect without one up to 7000m

I'm almost tempted for the novelty
Maybe just buy pne and keep it on a beater rifle with an aimpoint on my go to.
>>
Nogunz here, does it also apply to the eotech sights in the military?
>>
>>28716098
>normal
look i returned my 512 but i wouldnt call those temp extremes normal
>>
>>28718243
It applies to them all.
Which in a way sucks, it's a cool concept and with a recall this major there is going to be a lot of buyers hesitant to buy holo sights in the future, even with notable upgrades to the tech.

I emailed aimpoint to ask them how and where I needed to send money to get a set of short screws I lost for my PRO. A year ago.

Great products, garbage CS.
>>
Eh, holding on to mine, it was a gift and I'd imagine one day it'll be a worth something as a relic from the tacticool/mw2/mallninja era.
>>
>>28720442
Maybe, but it ain't ever gonna be worth full MSRP like it is now.
>>
>>28720461
Either way, it's all profit.
>>
There is one thing that I don't understand, EOTechs have been exposed to heat, cold and moisture for years by many military forces around the world. How come none of them noticed the losing zero issue?
>>
>>28720723
Might've just been told to shut up. Shit like that happens aaaallllll the time. I mean hell, look at the UCP pattern and the ACU uniform. Both sucked ass and have just finally been replaced.
>>
just get an EOTech on the cheap from some retard that was shitting himself thinking it would shift.

i'm going to run it with no BUIS because i live on the edge.
