Alright so knife thread BUT ONLY handmade/small production knives.
Pic is mine, made by Two Bee in Indiana. 1095 tool steel and curly maple grips, prone to a little surface rust but holds an edge very well.

I just cut them out, shaped them on a belt sander, sanded them smooth by hand, then finished them with shellac.

It'll shave hairs, but that doesn't really take much. I'm also working on a tracker I cut from the same machete, but I want to get some better steel in the future. I'm also looking in to making a forge soon

Blade was made like that, the guy has a beat to shit hammer he uses on some blades after heating and before oil quenching. Other blades he does acid wash, some he leaves as-is.
Haven't put it through too much abuse yet but it's held up well
