How are german AR-15s in comparison to american ones? I imagine low tolerances might make them more prone to malfunction, but then it could be the other way around.

I like how you won't even be able to see the red dot on that

Are you talking tolerances when it comes to milling and lathing?
A low tolerance makes a better fit from what I know.
I know nothing about iso tolerances when it comes to weapons though.
>>
>>28678088
People in Sweden seems to enjoy Hera ARs aswell.
Considering that's what the majority of dealers are selling.
>>
>>28678231
Yeah, for instance. I don't know much but I heard that what made AK's relatively reliable was low tolerances. Especially in winter warfare.
>>
>>28678261
As I said, I know nothing about weapons manufacturing. A loose fit would mean that it would function with dirt in it since it can still move around. But it should also mean that it's easier for dirt to get in there. A solution to this was obviously found.
I'm just about finished with my CNC education.

Tolerances have to do with the design, not who makes it. The real question you want is if they are made with appropriate precision, which I figure they are seeing as Germany's gun culture is tighter, more restrictive, and anyone making domestic stuff probably makes good shit unless they plan on being out-beat by competition.
>>
Hera Arms is good for your body

Also Oberland Arms, they also got a budget line (well, budget for german AR prices)
>>
>>28678410
Goddamnit, 2000 bucks (assuming that Dollares and Euromoney is roughly 1:1 at the moment) for a bare bones carbine lenght AR is a fucking ripoff if it doesnt shoos sub-MOA

>>
>>28678459

Probably not - importing weapons into yuroland is a major hassle that costs A LOT of time and money.
>>
>>28678448
Might be. If you search on it on youtube you're getting a lot of airsoft videos.
>>
>>28678439
Ew... who wants to live there anyway? Got a friend over there. I got him hooked on dip and a month later he called and complained that he couldnt find any Cope or even ANY dip at all over there because - here it comes - its ILLEGAL in Yurop

Listen up: You can grope, rape women on new year's eve if youre a refugee
you can even buttslam your buddy on a fag parade

But DIP IS ILLEGAL.

Damng, what a fucking shithole.
>>
>>28678480

Smokeless tobacco, spicily chewing tobacco is perfectly legal to posses and consume. Nobody uses it here so you pretty much need to buy that shit online.

Your friend is even more of an asshat than you are if he's incapable of finding it for sale anywhere.

Most hunters in germany are fudds anyway and the population is dense, so you won't roam the woods usually. It's not like you need a dip while sitting in one of those. At least that's their reasoning I think.

Yeah, a Hera AR goes for 17k SEK in Sweden.
That's a bit more than $2k I think.

It's not the importing that is a hassle. It's getting stuff out of the U.S.

Most of the European gun owners are not poorfags either so if you go through the trouble to get a gun you usually buy something of quality.

Clearances. The word you wish to use is clearances. The moving parts have plenty of room to move freely when in action. Loose tolerances would mean the moving parts could be significantly different in size between guns (such as having a .010+/- tolerance). The latter would not make the guns reliable at all.
>>
>>28679103
Ah, k. So healthy clearances with small tolerances are beneficial for reliability?
>>
Can we talk about mounting the red dot on the handguard? Is this a legit method?
>>
>>28679134
Yes and no. Chamber and locking surface fits by their nature demand very small clearances. Large clearances elsewhere allow ingress of dirt/etc which can foul these critical surfaces.

The optimal solution is probably very close fits where exposed to the outside environment, alongside close running fits on moving parts to reduce wear, but with wide slots/self-cleaning fluting or recesses that collect fouling from the important working surfaces until you have an opportunity to clean.
>>
>>28678459
In Czech rep. we can get american rifles. I'm currently saving for my first ar rifle - Ruger AR556. It goes around 1100 USD here. Only thing you can't do is to buy parts and then assemble your own rifle, it would be pain in the ass to get this done.
>>
>>28679337
Are european citizens allowed to buy guns in all of europe?
>>
>>28677962
Thats airshit, I had one like that as a kid, with exactly that package
>>
>>28679399
I don't know about other countries, but as a czech citizen I can buy rifles and pistols in any EU country. Only thing I need is one extra paper from police, which says that I can import guns to the Czech republic. Don't know about ammo tho..

wtfs up withe the takedown pins? its like they want it to be annoying
>>
>>28679399
Theoretically yes, but it's a lot of paper work, so most people just use local gun shops (which can get almost everything)

>>28678459
European prices already include VAT
With the weak Euro, your ITAR bs and the rifle having to undergo CIP testing here the price is nearly the same as buying from the local importer

Loose tolerances are kind of an old approach to reliability

The modern approach is usually to make guns durable and locked up tighter than an 8 year old Muslim bride.

Softer recoil than an AR, Incredibly durable as shown by the guy on Battlefield LV, H variant is incredibly light and accurate for a battle rifle.

Whether it's worth the extra money is up to you, I don't know shit about AR prices in krautland.

>Theoretically yes, but it's a lot of paper work
Pole here, I have a friend who bought a nugget in Slovakia because cheaper. He said it wasn't hard. He had to take some special papers from Polish Police, then after buying gun do some paper work on Slovakian Police station and that's all.
