Probably going to aim for March sometime, to avoid conflict with Nuggetfest. This is just a heads up starter annoucment thread that I do intend to organize a meet in March at Gay balls, same place as last time.
The owners of the property ask for $5 a person for usage of their range.

It is only 2 hours west of Atlanta on I-20. Drive there in the morning, buy and finger fuck the greatest war implement ever designed. Then hit up some range or national forest on the way back to shoot.

was at baygull yesterday. Some asshats spent an hour shooting their ARs at 15 fucking yards. Sat there for an hour waiting for them to move it back to atleast 100 yards. Why go to outdoor range if your shooting 15 fucking yards, go to the universities range if you want to do that.

was 90% sure it was a frat, group of like 15 guys and a few chicks. literally just fucking around, taking breaks between shooting. Not running drills at all. there are two different places to set up targets, most people just set up at the distance they want to shoot at at the berm of their choice, regardless of how close or far the other people are shooting at... It's common practice at gayballs to do that.

people do that all the time when I go, I don't see the problem, the berms are separated by a treeline and set apart from each other so no worries about ricochets. On top of that, the two berms are 80 meters apart from each-other
Looking around the area on Google Earth, and I see all these large clear farm fields.
Any of the Anon's down there think we could find a farmer that has a clear plot of land that would allow for 300-1000 meter range and a safe backstop?
One thing I that sucks about being an eastern state. No large open public land to shoot on.
I mean we can always shoot on NatForest land . Though we would have to find a spot that was recently cleared by managed logging and accessible by normal cars.
I'm just tired of 100m ranges. I want to crank my nugget's sight to 1000 and see if I can hit a man sized target.

I did VFW simply because a year is $41.
You can purchase 12 Garands a year from CMP. So it isn't like you need to keep your membership in VFW, GCA, or a gun club anyways.

It is that time again! I will be sending out sign up sheets and waivers later this week. Keep in mind the basic rules of the meet.
1. no rapid fire
2. no drugs or alcohol anywhere near the range. you will be arrested I can promise.
3. no gun handling outside of the range. upon arrival, deposit your guns at the table where we will keep them in locked storage. My mom or aunt will be handling this, and my aunts state police boyfriend will be there as well.
4. when ready to shoot, check out a gun from the table. you will be allowed ammunition in 20 round increments depending on the wait.
5. mostly, have fun and enjoy fellowship.
6. bring food to share. i will be bringing smores supplies (choc, gram crackers, marshmellows)
