Should i sell my sks and buy a WASR 10?
>>28658488
No. Keep your sks. At least it was assembled properly and isn't complete shit.
>>28658510
>>28658524
You'll regret it. Just save up and buy a vepr, why a wasr anyway?
>>28658488
If you want to, yes.
>>28658557
>as reliable as any AK
>accurate
>cheapest AK worth buying on the market
cant imagine why anyone would get one
No. Pick up some extra hours at work and just get a WASR to be slav buddies with your SKS
They both have their strengths and weaknesses and both deserve a place in your arsenal
>>28658568
Cheap, and as reliable as any ak.
Nope.
Definitely cheap. BUt century doesn't have the greatest track record for quality inspection.
Isnt a wasr stamped too? Im pretty sure veprs are milled. And last time i checked they were going for $800. Thats only $200 more than the wasr.
>>28658611
>Im pretty sure veprs are milled.
Not even close you fucking mong.
>>28658611
>not as reliable
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfUOfDcLX0I
>le milled is better than stamped maymay
>>28658636
It reads "reinforced".
My bad, but do you get what im trying to say? Spend another $200 for something of higher quality.
>>28658653
Higher quality with less parts commonality. Also good luck finding a 7.62x39 Vepr in stock anywhere.
>>28658488
WASR owner here. This is not a slam against the WASR in any way, but I'm going to say keep your SKS and work towards having both.
Fuck I want an SKS bad.
>>28658680
I second this guy.
The WASR is fine for the beginning AK enthusiast.
remember when WASRs were 500? Fuck you century, stop overpricing the WASR to promote your shitty fucking RAS47
>>28658488
I fucking hated my SKS, get a Choppa nigga
>>28658488
>sell my sks
no
>buy a wasr
yes
>>28658611
>>28658611
>>28658510
The new ones are fine.
From what I understand, CA WASR 10s after 2008 or fine and don't suffer from the canted sights and poor QC.
SKS prices aren't going down. I'd hang on to it but it's your decision.
Love my WASR. It runs great, is accurate, eats anything, like an AK should.
And I love my SKS too, don't take it out as often though because heavy.
You know everyone yelled at me for buying a RAS47 instead of a WASR.
I put 660 rounds in it in 3 days, dry, no oil or cleaning or anything out of the box and haven't had a single misfire, and it's accurate at 100 yards (unfortunately 100 is the maximum where I shoot)
I know every gun is different, but my buddies WASR 10 will fuck up about twice a mag if he doesn't oil keep it nice an oiled. It also has a canted front sight and he had to buy a red dot
>>28661393
Weird. My WASR will run no matter what I do to it.
>>28658488
Keep the SKS. Prices are only going up, and SKS's that haven't been fucked with are getting harder to find.
>>28660252
My AK weighs more than my Norinco sks..
>>28658488
>>28658524
Literally for what purpose?
How often do you even shoot your SKS? Because that is what the AK will feel like.
>>28661393
two words, say em with me now
>CAST
>TRUNIONS
>>28661393
>my buddies WASR 10 will fuck up about twice a mag if he doesn't oil keep it nice an oiled
Hahaha.
Mine likes grease.
>>28662737
I fucking love my wasr definatly more than my opap
>>28662802
Yes.
I need to go hunting with mine someday to stick it to my "you can't hunt with that" faggot relative.
>>28662842
What state you live I take mine out coyote hunting in az all the time
>>28661393
>You know everyone yelled at me for buying a RAS47 instead of a WASR.
EVERY C39V2 AND RAS47 ARE JUST TICKING TIME BOMBS WAITING TO GO OFF.
Exactly on the 1000th round, the trunion will crack like a thunderbolt going off next to your ear and will permanently deafen you. The entire bolt will mushroom into a lump of useless potmetal, and the sheer pressure created by this will cause the dust cover to detonate into shrapnel, showering your face and any bystanders with a lethal hail of steel fragments.
The Century-made gun will then cause all remaining ammunition left in the magazine to cook off and set the piss-poor cast metal bolt and carrier on fire. Due to the shoddy metallurgy of the carrier group, the fire will intensify and melt the rest of the firearm into a liquid slag which will then proceed to burn a hole through your glove, your hands, and several feet into the ground before it can be extinguished.
Upon attempting to return the firearm for warranty, Century Arms will deny the gun ever even existed, and it will be impossible to further pursue a claim due to the fact that the serial number or any markings on the gun have long since been obscured due to the fact that all the remains of the C39v2 or RAS47 is just a hunk of melted WalMart-grade potmetal that is welded to whatever surface you dropped it on when it catastrophically failed at exactly 1,000 rounds.
>>28662864
>What state you live
Minnesota
>coyote hunting
I would do that if I could find any. Everyone around my family's farm has been plugging the fuckers left and right.
>>28662954

>>28662968
I feel ya man those fuckers are Some what smart I'm just gunna bait the with rabbit haha
>>28662954
>mfw anons report how their century ak's headspace start walking off whenever they hit 1,000+ rounds
This really isn't a problem considering most poorfags here will never see the day of actually putting 1,000 rounds through their gun.
>>28658488
>Selling an SKS
>Ever
Unless you're replacing it with another SKS of better quality (East German > Russian > Sino Soviet > Yugo > Norinco) or getting one with all matching serial numbers than don't do it.
>>28658488
no, sks is better made. solid milled steel, not ikea sheet metal
>>28662954
Thanks anon, I'll sell mine off when I hit 999
>>28663003
I put about 300 a month through my ak of choice
> mainly wasr 10
>>28663035
that's a tapco brake isn't it?
mcfucking kill yourself
>>28663040
Meh I got it for free and I switch it between rifles
>btw it's not that bad for 20$
>>28663035
>>28663040
>mcfucking kill yourself
Don't kill yourself.
Get a fucking Fighter Brake. I fucking love mine.
>>28662802
can you explain why? i own a wasr, but was under the impression the opap is better because heavy receiver?
>>28658652
Not every WASR is shit but enough of them are shit to make buying one a risk and if you do make sure to inspect it first.
I would rather pay a little extra and not have to worry about what Century might have fucked up.
WASR-10 checklist
>rack the bolt. Does it feel like it is hanging up at all? The action should be very smooth and easy.
>Test several different mags from different manufacturers in the mag well. Make sure they all fit. Make sure the well isn't too tight. Make sure they don't wobble.
>check the sights. Do they look fucked up? They might be canted.
>press on the disconnector pin. Can you move it with your finger? You shouldn't be able to.
Did I miss any? A few years ago Dunham's was having a black friday sale on WASRs. They had 5 rifles in the store, I checked all 5, each one of them had at least one thing wrong with it.
>>28663078
opap is a piece of shit. Along with every other pap variant.
>stupid special snowflake furniture
>looks retarded with its snowflake handguards
>stock is a malformed baby that smacks you so you need to euthanize it with a filer
>non chrome lined barrel, yugo surplus 7.62x39 is corrosive for fucks sake
>recent reports of heat treating issues
It's shit. Just plain fucking shit. The only ak I legitimately hate and will never own.
>>28663078
>akm parts
>lighter
>chromed lined barrel
Plus I love the dong
There both nice so I bought both lol
>>28663085
They have the ghetto bolt hold open thanks to cheap tapco trigger.
>>28662864
What's the bolt action? Looks like a mauser?
>>28658611
>only $200
I'm not even a poor fag, but that's a lot of ammo I could but for the WASR.
>>28663085
If it's fucked up then just return it, like damn. Are you people going to die because you didn't get to shoot your AK within a certain amount of time?
>>28663111
Dunhams has a strict no returns policy.
>>28663003
That's nowhere near the magnitude of what would happen.
In the clip below, FPS Russia does a carefully calculated recreation of what a Century Arms failure would look like using a much more reliable firearm to set off the reaction.
But as you can see, despite his extensive training and preparation for the ensuing blast, he nearly loses his life.
>>28663110
M-48 Mauser I love that rifle too I have the full kit and bayonet too
>>28663124
The fuck was he thinking?
>>28663111
Every time I buy a gun I shoot it on the drive home to see if I have to drive right back to j and g sales
> my favorite place for aks
>>28663121
Then have a strict never shop their policy.
>>28663143
deez nuts
>>28663184
Well said sir
>>28663100
But nutnfancy said it was cool and kickass.
>>28663085
>WASR's were shit up til 2008
>its not 2008
>>28663184
> Deez nuts
> Not Deez Nyets
you had one job...
Personally, I like the Zavasta N-PAP more. One hell of a weapon.
>>28658488
Nigger keep your sks. Save up more money and then buy a proper AK. Wasrs work, but if you have a reliable income it makes more sense to save up and get something good.
I had a Yugo SKS
I traded it in toward an M&P Shield
I had difficulty getting the bolt apart because there was cosmoline gumming it up and I was getting light primer strikes
But I had already bought an O PAP so I decided that I no longer wanted a rifle that seemed less than safe
>>28658897
wood ak74m side folding stock? Nigga that is cool.
