Anybody else know these feels?
How does one deal with the TSA if you need to bring a gun on your trip? Do you have to call them days before and let them know you're coming? Lock everything up in respective cases?
And how did you manage to deal with them without using a constant tone of disgust and condescension?

You're supposed to claim them at the check-in counter. TSA might search you (especially in the containment zo-- er, liberal states) but if you follow the rules they *can't* fuck with you.
That being said, TSA being condescending faggots is something you can't ever get around. Baggage throwers have been known to try to pry open rifle cases in the past; consider yourself warned.

They have to be unloaded, no mags in (exception being internal mags), and in a locked case. They just have to be signed off, and I had to write 7 placards, one for each gun, and they get taped on. I had to show that each gun had no ammo in the case, and was unloaded.
You have to tell whatever airline you're flying that you have guns, and after getting a look of disgust they'll direct you to a special kiosk.
The airport is packed with a bunch of people trying to fly to New York City, Washington, etc. So I garnered a lot of unneeded attention, smarmy comments, and dirty looks.
