Just bought a Ruger SR9c today for $250. Heard nothing but positive reviews. I'm sure /k/ has some opinions. Whatcha think guys?
>>
>>28646106
I think it's ugly as fuck and has weird ergos, but it shot really nicely.

For $250, you got a hell of a deal imo.
>>
>>28646106
Noice
>>
>>28646106
That's a crazy ass good deal you got
>>
Like all semi auto Ruger pistols, it's ugly and the controls aren't the best, but it's reliable and shoots nice. You got a hell of a deal for 250, enjoy it!
>>
More pics, OP.

Here's mine I got a couple months ago for $350. I'm jealous of your amazing deal. I don't agree with the others, I think it looks pretty nice.
>>
Excellent ccw and you got it at a great price
>>
Not a fan, but for $250 i sure as hell could be.
Nice get.
>>
I love my full size SR9, its the pistol ive shot best with.

Worse trigger than a Glock, fuckheavy recoil spring, shit sights, Ergos like a pineapple.

Also,Ruger.
>>
>>28646507
so much povert in one picture...
>>
>Ruger
Shit.

All these nerds are shitting on LAV, but he's right... there's a reason no operators use their guns. Unreliable trash.
>>
>>28646610
>still has safety, is ambi and has front slide serrations

Step it up glock, and step down fanboy not everyone wants your commoners gun.
>>
>>28646489
Oddly enough I wanted the black slide. Only got stainless because it came with three magazines and was $50 cheaper than I could find any of the black ones.
>>
Does anyone use or recommend the safety? It has a Bretty light trigger and I'm not sure I trust ruger qc to keep me from NDing into my own thigh
>>
>>28646106
Where did you find one for 250? I like my lc9 but want a double stack, considering ruger has some downsides I'm opting to drop $50 more for the FNS9c over the SR9c, but if it was 250 I may reconsider.
>>
>>28646507
what the fuck did you do to the grout? it looks like you try cleaning it by scraping a screwdriver across it.

Just cruising my local Facebook pages and it popped up. I was the first to respond after running it thru the Florida gun registry, I met up with him at his small business

It's not to keep the trigger from being pulled while in the holster or from being pulled while you're on target. In those cases the trigger guard should be covered (while in holster) and your finger should be off the trigger until ready to fire (while drawn).

That's the common misconception. What it's real use is, not shooting your leg while drawing or re-holstering under stress, or otherwise. Since striker fire and concealed hammer guns don't have exposed hammers, you can't simply put your thumb behind the hammer while holstering the weapon. Safeties aren't a necessity on hammer fire guns unless you want to carry cocked & locked, but in a striker gun (especially considering the triggers are lighter) its of importance. If you see yourself in a situation where you've had to use your weapon and then have to stick it back in the holster and run, or put it back so the cops don't shoot you when they arrive, or if you're going to leave your weapon in a safe or elsewhere with a round in the chamber, use your safety. Otherwise be careful as fuck. A lot of people have fallen for this macho man no safety meme and a lot of people have put holes in their walls and legs, and its because the concept and purpose of the thumb safety has been misconstrued for marketing reasons.
>>
>>28646106

That's an amazing deal. I have also only heard positive things about the sr9. Don't be fooled by the memesters around here.

Holy shit did Vickers fans actually start coming here to run damage control? Sounds exactly like that meathead white trash anon was fucking with on facebook.
>>
>>28646987
>meathead
vickers certainly isnt a meathead, he is a fat fuck who cant even do a single pullup in his crossfit gym for a video he made about why he is fat. he only wishes he was a meathead

Manual safeties are for experienced persons who want another layer of retention. They are not a training wheel. If you can't keep your boogerhook off the bangswitch you shouldn't have a gun.
>>
>>28647216
Wasn't talking about Vickers himself, just the guy who went all out trying to defend him on facebook the other night. I know Vickers is just a big bowl full of jelly.
>>
>>28647229
>I dont know what retention is
noguns confirmed. lets see a pic of your level 3 duty safety faget.

I like my fullsize SR9, but I'm having issues hitting anything with it. No idea why because occasionally I'll get a perfect shot that lined up with the sight picture but mostly all over the place.

My Sig P398 doesn't have this issue even though its markedly smaller.

Bump for more info

I've heard they are very accurate
>>
>>28647504
>>28648320
I've got a 9E and SR9C. Never had any problems with either, great accuracy. Have you tried dry firing practice to make sure you're keeping the gun steady while pulling the trigger?
>>
>>28646435
It's mostly about the price.
>>
>>28648604
You need snap caps ruger recommends you only dry fire with the magazine in. If you have the mag out the trigger will still pop and not shoot even when loaded
>>
>>28648684
Pretty sure you can dry fire with an empty magazine. The only concern is the striker impacting the magazine disconnect when no magazine is in.
>>
>>28646106
>Loaded neon orange chamber indicator the size of your dick
fuckin DROPPED

FUCK Ruger
>>
>>28648815

Jesus man, I'm sorry. Sucks to hear about the micropenis.
>>
>>28648815

The 9E doesn't have that.

Vickers Internet defense force detected
>>
While I would never buy a ruger again, $250 is a good deal, you could do a lot worse, especially at that price.
Once you get some experience, if you decide you like shooting enough you can buy a good gun and really get the most out of it. My first gun was a Taurus PT99, I still have it, and I honestly believe that I wouldnt appreciate good guns like I do had my first gun been an HK or something. That ruger should be reliable enough for defense and range time fun.
>>
>>28646106
I love mine. Easy to conceal, accurate. Overall a very nice shooter. Never had a single issue with any ammo brand. magazines are 'spensive as fuuuuuuck but thats pretty standard for a lot of pistols.
>>
>>28648832
My sides.
>>
I got mine for $220 or something, but that was the used employee price I think.

OP you got a really good deal.
>>
>>28648794
The manual says not to dry fire without a magazine.

Source: the manual.
>>
>>28648860
Do you know who I am!
>>
>>28646106
Nice job OP, everybody I know who has one says they are keepers.
>>
>>28649070
And I believe I said to not dry fire when no magazine was inserted. There is a big difference between an empty magazine inserted in the gun and no magazine at all.
>>
>>28646106
The SR9c is a fantastic gun and you got an unbelievable deal. I love mine and it's served me well for 5+ years. As for those criticizing the aesthetics? Fuck them, they have shitty opinions.
