The STG is just a pretty cool design. If it were coming out of a bigger manufacturer I'm sure they could drive the price down even further. That might even happen depending on the popularity of this after release.
If they could have gotten the price down to around $1k, I'm sure a ton of people would be more willing to buy one. The problem with $1800 is that it's the price of a gucci ar with a good set of optics.
PTR I believe is also going to be releasing an STG 44 in the US market, but the price will be about $5k, so $1800 at least puts it within reach for the average gun owner. It just begs the question will more consumers that were planning on purchasing or building a premium AR opt for this instead?
