Investments.
Roth-IRAs are fucking GOAT.
CD's can be nice too. I like to use them for christmas shopping. Put one or two in for the total I plan on spending and then cash it when I start my christmas shopping. Mostly helps by making sure I have some cash on hand for christmas shopping just in case something comes up and wipes my savings.

Still learning all the wonderful ways to grow my money without doing much work.

I like living in America, I like the benefits of living in this society, so I'm ok with paying taxes. Yeah, it sucks to lose 12% of my paycheck every month, but that's a small price to pay to live in a country that has actual rule of law (I grew up in Mexico City).

And how much of the money you spend goes to taxes?

Something like 70% of the cost of a loaf of bread is taxes.

The workers pay, land the factory is on, land the wheat was grown on, gasoline to power harvesters, processing, and shipping, the workers pay to repair vehicles and machines is taxed, the vehicles and machines you have to buy are also almost entirely composed of taxes, the electricity used to bake the bread is taxed, etc etc etc etc

It's more like, the vast majority of all the money you've ever made went to taxes. Probably well over 80%.

So when you have a job, your employer holds onto a percentage of your paycheck to cover taxes at the end of the year since most people can't be trusted to save up for that shit. Its usually enough to cover what you plus a little extra as a buffer. Once you file your taxes, you're basically declaring how much you owe, so from there, you get some money back from the amount that was withheld. Sometimes, it goes the other way though, and you owe them money, but thats less common by far.

Typically, you file a W4 when you start working declaring how many deductions you have, for example you get a tax break if you have dependents or w/e, as well as how youre filing (married people get better rates than single) etc to calculate how much they will withhold.
Sometime in the first few months in the year, you get mailed a W2 form from your employer that lists how much money you made, how much you put in your 401k and HSA (tax exempt), etc. You'll also get a bunch of 1044 series forms from the bank, like 1044-INT for declaring interest you've earned on your money there and 1044-DIV for returns on divident returns. You'll get a 1044 for basically any way you made a dime thats on the books. You end up putting all these values into turbotax and it basically fills in the tax refund (1040, 1040E, or 1040EZ based on how much you make and how complicate it is) paperwork for you and mails it off, telling you how much money to expect back, and a few weeks later the government sends you a check in the mail.

Bro Federal, state, and local government suck up almost 50% of the USA GDP. There is nothing small bout the price we pay to live in this country.

>>
>>28644095
If you do your deductions right you can still get all the tax credits, end up with larger monthly paychecks, and be within $50 at the end of the year on taxes owed/paid.

This is what I normally am able to do.
>this year'll be a liiiittle different since I bought a house for the first time and got a humongous tax credit on that, will be getting ~$200 back even with zero deductions
>>
>>28654674
Tell that to the Chinese

>>28654712
How so? There is no limit on how much growth an economy can go through. The only limiting factor is how much people in said economy are willing to produce.
>>
>>28655200
Inflation, labor shortages, lack of needed infrastructure, etc. When the economy DOUBLES, you need production that meets that economy's needs. You can match it for a while, but doubling every 12 years is too much.

Also
>Tell that to the Chinese
China's growth was unsustainable, that why it's been decreasing and part of why they're having issues now.
>>
>>28654134

Somalians probably dont pay very many taxes. Their economy is fucking BOOMING.

Retard. It costs money to provide the quality of country you live in.
>>
>>28655368
You are right. But we are forgetting that it will not always be at 6%, some years it might be 4% or 3%.

>Inflation
always have to remember the rust that eats away at society.

>labor shortages
Ok sure but I dont think the USA has ever had this problem.

>lack of needed infrastructure
If they need it, they will built it thus adding to the GDP.

>When the economy DOUBLES, you need production that meets that economy's needs
When the GDP doubles that means the production itself has doubles.

I'm projected to get about 2,200 back in tax returns. I've got a DDM4V7 that only has a basic iron sights setup. During my last drill I qualified on an M4 using an Aimpoint Comp M4. It wasn't that bad, first time I ever qualified on an optic.

I've been researching a lot but still can't come to a decision on what optic to get. I've really been looking into the ACOG Ta 11 and Ta 31. The VCOG looked pretty fuckin sweet but it's pretty expensive.

What optic should I get for a DDM4V7? Looking to use it for medium range, have another rifle for close range stuff.

It's the SCOUT TK.

http://www.flir.com/scouttk/

It's got a crappy 160x120x9hz microbolometer scaled up to 640x480 in the eye piece. It's also got an internal lithium battery so between 30 and 45 months from the mix date it'll have a 45 min run time. It also has fixed optics so you can't add a 3x or 6x magnifier. The only good thing it has is a $600 street price and all of the FLIR video post processing modes.

At least the Mutant uses magazines which are common, and actually fit in pouches.
