I can sort of understand it. I'm thinking the thought process is that the very bottom of the round is nothing but propellent, and when it's struck, the entire metal part is sent forward. Essentially, the brass and the slug would be a single part.

There are certain kinds of people who shouldn't be allowed to breed. Irresponsible dumbtard owners who leave their firearm underneath their childs' playpen, and people who believe we should ban firearms because of the actions of the .00082% The needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many, it would seem.

>"It's not the same thing".

They never do explain how. Please, explain to us.

I remember hearing a story of a person who was selected to do class debate, pro-gun vs anti-gun.

The anti-gun did the regular yada yada ban assault weapons, yada yada full-auto should be banned, yada yada guns increase the likeliness of shootings, yada yada.

When it came to his turn, he simply reached down and grabbed a 60 pound stack of papers, which was printed, front and back, small print, the names of people who've drowned in pools for the past 5 years.

Reached down and grabbed 4 journals that were overflowing, full of the names of people who were killed in car crashes this month alone.

He stated his work was incomplete, as he still needed a piece of paper for his argument.

A single piece of paper, big print, one corner of the page, the names of all the people who've been killed in the past 20 years by firearms. Added middle names, addresses and source links to make it look more scary and impressive.

>"It's not the same thing."

Needless to say, he didn't speak more than 10 words for his argument and he won the debate, with a professor who was already kind of anti-gun to begin with.
>>
>>28642873
I'm from Britain. I thought that's what bullets looked like before visiting /k/. I don't see how people in America can be so shielded from guns though. Does anti-gunners really acknowledge their lives are not worth protecting? How do they rationalize it?
>>
>>28643416
That reminds me of the Marine who was in a philosophy class and the professor said "there is no God" and the Marine got up and punched him in the face and the whole class started cheering and he got a blowjob from the hottest chick in class while saluting Ol' Glory as the Star Spangled Banner played
>>
>>28643446
They've never been put in a situation where their lives have ever been threatened, so they assume no one is ever in that situation (unless they were put there by a gun).

Cave Johnson disapproves of the message, but agrees with the technology.

Time to move onto entire cartridge technology.
>>

They attempt to ban anything that can hurt them. Guns, Knives, Any weaponry you can imagine. It scares them. They rationalize it by digging up a 20 year old incident where some moron did something he wasn't supposed to - This is proof that all Americans are in danger and we need to ban whatever it is I am talking about, As I am not sure what it is because I'm uneducated on what I'm trying to ban.

I actually had my liberal friend explain to me why they use a whole round instead of the bullet on this shit.

As he explained it, these idiots most of the time don't know what an actual bullet looks like, but they recognize the cartridge wholly. That's why they use the whole cartridge instead.
>>
>>28643416
But cars only kill like twice as many people as guns. The number of people killed by guns would take up more than one page.

Fake and gay
>>
>>28642930
no, they simply have no understanding of how firearms and specifically bullets work. this is like that one episode of whale wars. the one where one idiot pretends he just got shot by the Japanese and pulls out an absolutely perfect (never even been loaded) 30-06 round from his jacket.

what does being a liberal have to do with guns seriously?
if anything a true liberal would support gun ownership.
>Through all these strands and traditions, scholars have identified the following major common facets of liberal thought: believing in equality and individual liberty, supporting private property and individual rights, supporting the idea of limited constitutional government, and recognising the importance of related values such as pluralism, toleration, autonomy, bodily integrity, and consent.

They believe in this thing called "police." It's not a coincidence that pro-fun people tend to be more rural and anti-fun people tend to live in cities where police are 5 mins away. In that situation, running out the front door and calling the cops is far safer then confronting the baddie yourself.
>>
>>28646448
On /k/, liberal is a stand-in word for "people I disagree with." Anyone who holds opposing views to you is a "liberal."

>it's all over the place which side i agree with
That's because people who strictly identify with certain groups, i.e. Democrat or Republic, are fucking idiots. Striving to label yourself or be apart of a group politically is always going to lead to groupthink. Rather than label yourself "liberal" or "conservative," I'd stop identifying altogether.

>>
>>28646453
Lol nigger what

I live in a city, and the last time I needed the police it took half an hour. If anything, people in cities need to own guns more due to higher risk of crime, and expectation that the police are going to protect you.

Police don't have a legal obligation to respond.

>>28646453

i have a fucking colleague like that at work he says "nobody should own guns then the criminals wouldn't have guns either" and i can't make him understand the simple undeniable truth that criminals can get guns easier and cheaper than any law abiding citizen could in my country. it just doesn't compile in hid brain.

>>28642873

It's easy to see how uneducated, excuse my vernacular retards, are influenced by poorly thought out and fallacious arguments and either ignorance or fundamental misunderstanding of the facts
>>
>>28647071
the other part they have trouble with is equality. guns make people pretty equal but if no guns in play the bigger stronger men will have an advantage in any conflict. basically a woman can't do a fucking thing to an assailant if he is a man let alone twice her weight. despite all the talk about equality this never comes up. a world without firearms would be ruled by brutes and gangs of brutes.
>>
>>28646930
No. Identify a candidate by their personal beliefs rather than their partisan views.
>>
>>28647128
well in my country it doesn't fucking matter.
the ruling party penalizes (you have to pay a hefty fine) not voting with the party so the individual beliefs don't play in practice. it's all very fucked up.
>>
>>28647128
Unfortunately, that's not how politics works in America. Democrats have to pander to the far left (SJWs, BLM, supporting open-borders, gun control and nothing less), and Republicans have to pander to the far right (evangelicals, science-deniers, statists, bigots).

Voting for the individual is futile. Why do you think Ron Paul was shunned by the RNC in 2012 despite doing so well? Why do you think Jim Webb was being boo'd and called "not a democrat" when he was in the race? Why do you think Rand Paul is seen as a joke to the RNC this year?

I run into the uninformed more than anyone, heard this gem the other day:

"I used to have guns, and I don't think anyone shouldn't be able to have them. But I don't think it should be easy for people to get assault rifles and I don't think anyone needs them."

My response:
"What's an assault rifle?"

"You know, one of those ones that goes pewpewpewpewpewpew." He said this while making machine gun type gestures.

I informed him of the truth on machine guns, assault rifles and related legislation. He was receptive and asked questions for clarification.
