What kind of hipster gun can I get for $450? The more obscure the gun/caliber the better
>>
>>28638824
They have used mauser pistols for like $250 at a lot of gunstores. Also you can find arisakas that use 7.7mm
>>
>>28638824
Anything pre-1980's Walther, like a P.38 or P1
>>

Nugget.
Literally shit tier, yet people still think sine rube is going to pay more than $75 for one.
Bonus when some queer posts his for $750 in a tacticool stock.

Winchester Model 71. No one here has probably ever heard of it and its super hard to find.

There are a lot of little blowback pistols from the early 20th century that come in tacky cartridges, and were made by the jillions, thus being available as shooters for less'n $450.

GunBroker? GunAuction? Gun shows? Gun shops?

Call around, ask if shops have any old pocket pistols or military sidearms. Go look at them, see if they'll shoot, and buy one that tickles your fancy.

I'm presuming you just want to dink around with it, and not use it for carry or some kind of rigorous duty?

No shit.

The story behind it is hilarious too.
>nuveau-hipster college-lib lady wants to get in touch with her paleo roots (paraphrased, but she literally said "paleo roots")
>had never even touched a firearm before
>bought it at an LGS for $359.99+tax, original receipt was included in box

>so she got a BIG STRONG MAN from work to get rid of it for her
>he posts the ad on armslist

>both of them are at the agreed-upon meeting place
>as soon as I get out of the car this bored-looking fat middle-aged man pulls me aside and basically goes "she is the biggest cunt ever, buy this and do the world a service"
>pay full asking price because jesus christ he was right and I'm tired of listening to her sob story about not being able to eat raw red meat like her ancestors because she's too much of a metro-liberal pussy to shoot it
>full asking price was $75

>>
OP here, I think I've decided on the mauser 1910. Now I just got to find one for a good price
>>
>>28639117
Look for Ruby, or just try to narrow it down by looking up .32 ACP or .25 auto which is what most were made in.

Browse Simpson LTD for a bit to see what catches your eye and shop around for price because some of their guns are very reasonable and can undercut even auction sites while others can be found cheaper elsewhere

Only 384 made. Not centerfire, not rimfire, not pinfire, "central fire". And the winchester factory converted at least 107 of them to true centerfire.

Oh, the last one to be sold at auction fetched over a million dollars and wasn't even in fireable condition, not like anyone has a live round for it anyway.
>>
>>28639232
Eh, pinfires have already been talked about to death,

Well I suppose it pisses off Jews. And that's as good a reason as any.
>>
>>28639176

Look at any of the models posted in the above short lists.

Search gunbroker/gunauction . com for "pocket pistol" "vest pocket" since that seems to be your draw - if you want it to be old and and snowflakey, search brands that existed back inna day, FN, Colt, Iver Johnson, Walther, Mauser, etc, etc.

It's your purchase, and your aesthetic choice, so get cracking.

People 'round /k/ seem to love the Colt 1903 pocket hammerless, but I dunno if you'll find one under $450. Still, that's a practical, stylish, and super hipstery firearm.

A sig p225/p6

So impractically big for what it is and completely overshadowed by its bigger and more popular brothers the p226/228 and 229, they're completely overlooked by the majority of people.

If you can look around, you can find one. And to top it off, they're sweet shooters and have outstanding triggers. The p6's double action is longer though.

http://www.southernohiogun.com/handguns/surplus-handguns/php-mv-9-9mm-pistol.html?___SID=U

Very obscure, very rare (relative to most other service pistols). Like five videos of it on YouTube. Briefly made by the Croats as the USSR was breaking up, and as the dust was settling.

Essentially a Walther P38 with a double stack magazine, and a single recoil spring under the barrel, likely inspired by the Beretta 92.

Small batches of these have been making their way into the country for 7-8 years. No one really seems to know when the supply will dry up, but only about 13,000 were made.

>$215

Bizarre looking, a head turner, interesting history, obscure as fuck, but chambered in 9x19 so you don't have to sell a kidney to buy ammo.

The ultimate hipster gun.

An uncommon and interesting gun on a budget of 450? I'd recommend a bond arms derringer (assuming you don't live in California). It's just a double barreled shotgun that you can fit in your pocket. A good amount of fun to shoot, and it's always an interesting talking point when people see it.

How about a semi obscure pistol in a semi obscure caliber? Steyr M357-A1. Firstly, its a Steyr which has about as much plastic fantastic market share as Phoenix Arms does in .380 pistols. It looks like a space gun from the future while actually being nice to shoot and affordable. The sights are trapezoidal, another oddity and it has an internal lockout mechanism with a key. As for .357 sig, its buyable enough and if you want more ammo availability, you could always swap in a .40 barrel as the mats are the same either way. Pic related
>>
>>28645194
These actually feel really nice and shoot very well.

Also, I like the weird trapezoid sights, but a lot of people don't. They are replaceable, though, if you just can't stand 'em.

If you're familiar with /lit/, and the hipsters that frequent it, that's a gun in infinite jest. Also special snowflake, antiquated and anachronistic caliber. Just like the moustache or something.

Runner up would be a Walther Ppk/s for the James Bond effect, preferably in .32 acp for snowflake. 3rd place maybe a Star super B in .38 super, or a 9mm largo. Pulp fiction+snowflake. Also pretty decent calibers and guns.
>>
>>28645907
The c96 was a gun that came to popularity during world war one only because they couldn't produce enough Lugers. Post WWI a lot of them were destroyed during the downsizing of the German army as per the treaty of Versailles.
It saw very little success on the civilian market in the west and was imported en mass to china
They are historically significant, aesthetically pleasing, and rare. You aren't going to find one for any less than $800
