>Both referring to concealed

Which do you prefer? I'm thinking about picking up a smaller gun for pocket carry. Any recommendations?
>>
>>28605802
If you want to pocket carry you'll need a subcompact .380 at the largest, unless you're a fattie or a sperg.
>>
>>28605809
I'm not opposed to waist carry. I just don't wanna have to go get larger pants to accommodate a holster. Also worried about it being uncomfortable.
>>
>>28605851

Unless you have gigantic pockets or one of those tiny ruger .380's pocket carry isn't going to be convenient. I carry a j frame or a glock 43 in a coat pocket from time to time but never in pants pockets.
>>
>>28605851
>I just don't wanna have to go get larger pants to accommodate a holster.

I literally don't know how this is a thing. I have an athletic build, I wear 32x30 pants and have never felt the need to go up a size. If you do you must be pushing the fucking limits on that denim as it is.

Without going up a size I've comfortably carried:

>M&P9 full size at the 4 o clock (less comfortable)
>XDS 4.0 at the 4 o clock
>M&P9c at the 1 o clock
>>
>>28605992
It helps with printing as well, which is also why you might want to get a size up on a belt too if you are using a leather one with holes rather than a nylon weave belt.

The point is to conceal the gun and most people will build their outfit around the gun rather than the gun to their outfit.
>>
.380 is about as big as you can get for pocket carry. There are a few 9mms like the Kahr CM9/PM9 and the Sig P938 that are very small and can be pocket carried.

I carry a LCP frequently in the pocket during the summer, but I prefer IWB carry of my P2000sk when I can swing it.
>>
>>28606031

this. 1 size bigger cloths all around helps out tremendously with concealing.
>>
>>28606106
I have pocket carried a commander size 1911 in some Duluth pants (giant reinforced pockets) but it will pull your pants down.
>>
>>28605802
I like carrying either a ruger lcr .38 or a beretta 950 .25acp in my pockets. works pretty good
>>
>>28605802
I have an airweight 38 +p I throw in my back pocket all the time. It's very easy to forget it's there.
>>
>>28606117
>1 size bigger cloths all around

It's like you WANT to look like a retard.

>>28606031
I use a solid gun belt, but I've never gone a size up in anything. Building your outfit around a gun doesn't mean you have to wear extra baggy clothes.
>>
>>28606357
If you can fit a gun IWB with the pants/belt that you already have then you probably already own clothes that are too big to justify wearing them without concealing a weapon.
>>
No one will notice if you pocket carry. I pocket carry a shield at work and no one has any idea. People cram their pockets with so much shit these days it doesn't matter.
>>
>>28605931
I pocket carry a glock 43 while wearing cargo pants.

lolwut.

No, no I don't.

one of the few good things about the fucking huge cellphones we have now.

I can almost get away with pocket carry of my PPS.

not a viable option in summer time unless you're going to go full Hawaiian.

I pocket carry a Diamondback DB9 everywhere.
Desantis pocket tuk works well, the stiffer leather reenforcement at the top keeps the pistol from binding in the holster when you pull it. The extra flap at the bottom breaks the printing in the pocket and you can fit an extra mag behind it. The DB9 will not survive +P rounds, but that is pretty much every pocket pistol.

When I can I IWB carry a Springfield XD. Work doesn't like guns so the years a few times the XD might print would be a problem.
>>
>>28606765
ugh, trying to type too fast while stuffing my carry back in the pocket.
>Work doesn't like guns so the few times a year the XD might print would be a problem.
Fixed.
>>
>>28605802
Well, shoulder holsters are better than both, but since they're not an option, a Makarov in the pocket is worth two in the safe.
And by pocket I mean hulking ass coat pocket that I could, if pressed, fit a full size in...
>>
>>28605802
I think it really depends on your body type. If your waist sticks out wider than your legs, you'll be able to pocket carry easily. My waist and legs are about the same wideness, though, so I have difficulty concealing and difficulty drawing from a pants pocket. It is basically not viable for me. However, I sometimes will have a backup pistol in a jacket pocket.

How many times has it jammed or FTF or FTE or trigger springs break etc etc?
>>
>>28605809
There are plenty of 9x19 NATO handguns that are 1mm bigger than .380 Auto handguns. 9mm is always cheaper than .380, penetrates properly and you might already have a full size that eats the same food.

Zero FTF, zero eject problems, and one dud that was a faulty primer not a light strike. That out of 300 rounds fired from a gun filled with pocket lint.
I don't intend on keeping it past 1000 rounds. Pocket pistols have limited lifespans and DBs are thinner than most. As I said, I don't always pocket carry.

Where? There's a rather large size difference between 9mm and .380 handguns from almost every manufacturer.

So basically there's a very real size difference that makes .380 guns significantly easier to conceal than 9mm

I don't like pocket carry. Unless you have huge autistic pockets you really can't carry anything in a usable size, and it removes use of a pocket.
>>
>>28607696
in a pocket, yes. On your body, it makes little difference.
>>
>>28607504
If you compare manufacturers and designs the .380 will always be a little bit smaller, but is it worth the difficulty in getting ammo?

The Kel-Tec P-11 is only a little bit bigger than the P-3AT, as one example of a tiny 9mm.

The P-11 is also the same size as the Glock 42.

You've made your point that .380 guns are smaller, but is it really worth the loss of penetration? You could get a .32 ACP or .25 ACP gun and have an even smaller pistol.

There are 9x19 autopistols suitable for pocket carry, and revolvers shooting magnum cartridges that will also fit in a pocket.
>>
>>28605802
Carry a J frame .357mag in my front jeans pocket daily.
>>
Anybody have any experience with ankle carry? A lot of people seem to like it, but it just looks horribly uncomfortable to me. I'm needing a way to conceal as deeply as possible, and ankle carry seems like it would be good for that, but Im not sure.
>>
>>28605802
I waist carry the Shield. It's perfect. It's small enough that I can do appendix carry. Don't pocket carry it, give it some dignity.
>>
>>28606186

Yep, this. What holster you using?
>>
If you pocket carry don't wear skinny jeans. IWB would be difficult too. Light gym shorts often won't have the pocket depth or will hang wrong if they do. Bike shorts or yoga pants are right out. Anything other than those types of pants and you should be ok.
Pocket carry is always better for protecting yourself when a mugger has the drop on you. They WANT you to reach in your pocket, and not reach behind you. That being said, bigger is better and IWB is great if you are worried about spree shooters, terrorists, gang stalking, or packs of criminals. You know, wherever your paranoid fantasies take you.
>>
>>28609147
I just got a nice velcro ankle holster for my glock 43. Everyday carrying for over a month. Impossible to see, and so comfortable I forget about it. Works better with boot cut pants. Major downside is not as accessable, but if that is your only option, then better than nothing. It is actually pretty accessible from a seated position, just not from a standing position.
>>
>>28606441
>No one will notice if you pocket carry
Actually, not quite. I've started carrying recently, and God, I immediately noticed how many people around are carrying as well, You just have to pay attention and look into the right place.

But nogunz around you will be blissfully unaware to a surprising degree.

Side note, there's no need for any nogunz to know you're carrying, it'll freak them out for the rest of your relations with them.
>>
>>28606580
Blue jeans need to be forgotten. Even if you think it's not printing, the wear mark will make the gun outline painfully obvious in a very short time.
>>
>>28607429
Love both of them.
>>
Are some of you wearing skinny jeans or some shit? I'm just wearing regular wranglers and can can shove a 4" k frame in it with just a little bit of the grip sticking out. If some of you are bitching about pocket carrying anything bigger than .380 the problem is you and your faggy pants.
>>
>>28609231
>full Hawaiian

Big, baggy aloha shirts. Great thing about the crazy patterns; a little printing will never be noticed.
>>
>>28609241
I don't wear right pants for faggots. It prints but no one notices.
>>
>>28607696

To be fair, the Glock 42 is one of the worst guns in the market right now

>largest "slim" .380 available, but still only 6+1
>amidst the same size as the G43 and shield
>can't fire truncated ammo
>picky about other ammo too
>Glock still hasn't fixed the the problems it had on release
>>
>>28609147
Good for a backup, that's about it. Unless all you do is sit in a car.
>>
I keep a smith 36 (j-frame, old one) in my jeans pocket in summer. The weight is noticeable Dunno if I want to get a 442 or similar or just slide down to a 380. This gun isn't even rated for +p so I wouldn't be losing much going to 380. I had hopes for the glock 43 but actually fondling one reveals the weight and size doesn't even compare well to a steel snubbie and it loses 4 rounds compared to the 26 I already have.

I like pocket carry. It's much easier to throw a gun in your pocket.

Thats how mine looks. I think they're all like that. I'd like it to come up a little more, but nothings going to catch the trigger unless you're purposefully digging into the trigger guard.
