Thin blade machete or thick blade Kukuri. They're incredibly useful for removing vegetation thin and thick respectively. Low key bladed tool for truck carry if that's an issue. No pommel, so you have to be good at follow through, no handguard for that matter. Thick bladed Kukuris are like hatchets with an extended edge.

Na he is right, you get a good 10-12 inches more reach for the same weight on a European sword (early 16th century), the balance point is closer to the hilt and the blade is much slimmer in profile. Doesn't mean a Katana is a bad sword, just that you should use it a little different.
