Are these really legal to own? If so are they available and how much does this cost?
>>
>>28592684
>yes
>yeah, I guess
>Too much.

Seriously though, they're fucking worthless. There really is no logical reason to take a belt fed semi auto over a magazine fed semi auto, unless you're interested in the history or pure looks of the weapon.

But hey, if someone wants to buy it, who the fuck am I to speak on their behalf? It's their money, their reasoning. They can do whatever the fuck they want to.
>>
>>28592718

Alright thanks
>>
>>28592684
>no logical reason

The people buying them aren't interested in your logic. It's a collector's piece and strictly marketed as such.
>>
>>28592684
$9500 for the "collectors edition" limited run of 200 rifles
$7900 for the regular.

I'm gonna get one and go all Cyril Figgis "suppressing fire!!"
>>
I've read that they're a reliable platform until the receiver stretches too much 200k+ rounds, which I won't put through it in my lifetime.
>>
They're typical FN overpriced. But you won't be finding an m249 parts kit anytime soon.

I'm curious how much they changed the innards to not accept standard parts.
>>
>>28594837
Sounds like significant changes to the internals, while maintaining compatibility with butt stocks, barrels, and anything else you'd bolt on to it.
>>
Wouldn't it be cheaper just to build up a super-beefy AR with a full-auto BCG?
>>
Yes
Yes
I saw one on gunbroker for like 11 grand
>>
>>28594837
>Over priced
Please dear sir, direct me to where you can find a cheaper M249.
>>
>>28595145
Oh, fuck off. You know exactly what he meant.

$5200
>>
My lgs has one and are trying to sell it for $14,000.
>>
>>28595168
Maybe he didn't, it's in line with OOW and US MGA pricing, but actually FN, they could have added 3k/unit and sell half as many. They are right in line with the semi auto 249 market.
>>
>>28595183
That's a grand below dealer cost, if you know of someone retailing it for that, I will take a road trip and pay cash.
>>
>>28595193
That's well above FNs suggest list, of $9500 for the collector. But hey if they can get it...
>>
>>28595172
Yeah I forgot about all the other m249s that you can buy for cheaper...oh wait there are none others! It's a collectors piece and is obviously not meant for faggots like yourself.
>>
>>28595241
Sounds like somebody didn't get his nap in today
>>

I'm going for it!
>>
>>28595207
Retailers must be selling some special skin then
>>
Just wondering, how much militarIes get charged per full auto m29?
>>
>>28596096
Just over 4k
>>
>>28595806
Special skin?
>>
Makes it easy to get around a mag limit though, belt links are pretty hard to control.
>>
This makes me wonder, because there's no magazine for this, is it good for commie states like NJ or NY?
>>
>>28597296
Most mag limit states have already outlawed belt guns.
>>
Is one of you bastards bidding?
>>
>>28592684
The the actual fuck

Something that big and heavy, semi-auto only? Pfft.
>>
>>28595207
My dealer cost is $6400, I'd be curious what straight from FNH runs.
>>
>>28597540
I wouldn't know, I had seen that $6400 number before. But it wasn't clear to me whether that was the limited edition, or the standard.
>>
>>28597540
Probably $5500-ish. They're not cheap to make I know that.
>>
>>28597423
Get the laws changed and you can burn ammo in a heartbeat. Otherwise pay 240k for a transferable 249, or become a SOT.
>>
>>28592684
The real question is how hard is it to convert to full auto?
>>
>>28595241
it might as well not even be called an m249 because of all the differences to the internals. even comparing them is ridiculous.
its like a replica, but its not an actual replica because it only looks the same on the outside.
IT'S NOT A GOD DAMN M249!
>>
>>28592684
M249 SAW Rampage!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCoFvH8zQYI

There's only one m249 saw and the semi auto isn't it
>>
>>28595406
Get a belt fed ar-15 upper.
>>
>>28597720
Explain to a no guns pls, is the SAW jamming every now and then?
>>
>>28597754
yes those were malfunctions
failures to fire, which can be entirely the ammo's fault in some cases
>>
>>28592744
>>28595145
>>28595207
>>28595241
Are you working for FN or something?
>>
>>28599117
I'm only one of those four. And no, I just want one.
>>
>>28599117
Why would FN plant info in a forum dedicated to bolt action guns produced prior to the 1950s, and retailed for under $100?
>>
>>28599117
Maybe in a few months. But as of right now I'm just a fanboy.
>>
>>28594837
I heard they're actually priced close to what the gov pays for the real thing, so they aren't that over priced.
>>
>>28592744
1) You replied to the wrong post.
2) Read the fucking post you meant to respond to. It LITERALLY makes the point that you decided to make a post about.

Fucking dipshit.
>>
>>28600013
The wiki lists the unit price of the M249 as $4,087 each. Keep in mind the scale of military contracts.
>>
>>28595207
That's the price in counterstrike, lol
>>
>>28600013
And the factory direct nature of military contracts. Vs the 3 teir setup for retail civilian sales.
>>
>>28600083
Is counterstrike a gun shop in your area?
>>
>>28600034
>complains about unnecessary post by making an unnecessary post

Same could be said about you pal.
>>
Hmm, anyone know where to get a belt-fed upper? Cant seem to find a site that carries them and isnt out of stock.
>>
>>28600110
Yes, you have to download it from steam to purchase anything though.
>>
>>28597568
My distributor is saying that's the run-of-the-mill, no bells, no whistles model. They suggest an MSRP of $7800.

I'm considering one, honestly. For $6000 I'd get a kickass belt gun that would take my PMAG's. One belt plus six 40's is a doable loadout of 440 rounds of 5.56
>>
>>28600404
I have 5k links, 4 200 round saw boxes, 6 100 round nut sacks, 2 Tripods, 3 T&Es, 1 pintle, 1 machine gun acog, a collapsible buttstock, 4 barrels. I need the damn rifle.
>>
>heavy as shit semi auto that's objectively worse than an AR15 in everything but capacity
>EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARYDOOS
Top kek.
>>
>>28600139
Since people were waiting on fully paid Ares preorders for over 10 fucking years, I don't think they're very good at keeping up with demand somehow

No idea why retards are comparing this with an AR as a practical gun. The dudes buying this are going to be collectors with a safe full of Gucci rifles already.
>>
>>28592684
>semi-auto
What's the point?
>>
>>28600968
That there are a handful of transferable full auto ones and they cost 10x as much?
>>
>>28600968
yeah they should be making a full auto version, it's not like there is anything in the way to prohibit sale to civilians.
>>
So someone explain this to me.

What exactly makes it cost so damn much to produce?
Shit ain't milled out of inconel.
>>
>>28601408
They are massive and complicated guns to manufacture. That price also includes FNs markup, distributer markup, wholesaler markup, and dealer markup.
>>
>>28601408
>low demand
>low production numbers
>higher cost
Is it that hard to understand?

The M249 takes AR mags as well

But yeah, it's just a "cool" thing. There's no practical purpose to the M249S.
>>
>>28596096
The unit cost in 1999 was $4087. Adjusted for inflation, that puts it at about $5800 today. Of course, that's the price militaries pay when they order millions of dollars worth at a time.

http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m249.htm
>>
>>28601469
there would be higher demand if it were affordable on a blue-collar salary. 4 grand on the low end to make your AR isn't worth the money for something thats just going to be a range toy.
>>
>>28595193
>>28595141

there are semi 249s that are not made by FN but some other smaller shop.

they normally go for around $12-13k, but they arent FN.

The FNs from the FN factory arent available yet, they keep pushing back the release date
>>
>>28600141
Anyone else notice that you seem to get your weapons alot faster when playing OPFOR on Dust than the other maps? My ingame NICS check alway gets delay on Safehouse.
>>
>>28602655
There are some of the collectors edition limited to 200 guns with lots of extras on gun broker right now. I was willing to go close to 9k, but they are all going to go for more than that. Last I spoke with FN, they had only released a few of the collectors series, and didn't expect to be shipping the standard gun until March. The highest SN I saw listed is 88, hopefully they have just released the first half of the collectors series, and there will be more later this month that go cheaper.
>>
>>28595130
what would the auto BCG do in a "super-beefy" ar? i dont think you know how a rifle works.
>>
OK /k/omrads I am going to calm down, quit being a whiny little bitch, and wait for the STD version to come out in 3-6 months, and save $2k
