Glocks are the best of the big 3 polymer handguns (xd, glock, m&p)

Best aftermarket, best stock trigger, best lack of gay grip safeties

Anyone who falls for the M&P or XD meme is just being jewed by a dealer since we make better margins on them.

glocks = thick, solid, tight
>>
I've shot and cleaned a few Glocks in my time. Glock is a solid product and I'd like to have one in SHTF.
It's just the fucking fanboys I can't stand. They act like Glocks are the end all, be all of handguns.
Them and AR15 fanboys are the reason I own neither.
>I am planing on getting an AR10 tho.
>Plus I'm more into older handguns.
>>
Theirs no problem with them at all but i Can't stand the smaller compact ones

Glocks are good. I've liked the ones I've shot but never owned one. Guns for me are really just about preference or whatever you have a fetish for at the moment. You'll never own just one.

They are the standard by which all others handguns try to measure up to, that's not being a fanboy, that's just how it is, they changed the game when the 17 showed up on the scene

>>
>>28538015
less and less threads about them these days

they are the bic pen of the handgun market, the best balance in terms of functionality and economy
there is honestly little to say about them because they are standard n almost every way

the unusual nature of the debate comes from hate on rookies who who disregard the whole rest of the market because "the glock is fine"

the myth/joke about the glocknade spread because with so many glocks on the market, especially in the hands of amateurs glocks suffer more than their fair share of abuse; most failures were due to noobies loading P+++ ammo

They've been making a single design of gun since the 80s with practically no changes. It was and is a "solid" design. They haven't taken a single risk or made a single new design. Their brand is entirely one design, so there's nothing to talk shit about.

Well ur precious navy seals decided to switch from them to the sucky glock 19, why would they choose a shitty gun if the P226 is better.

Btw majority of the P226 owners bought one because only reason was the navy have them so it must be the best mentality.

I also have a Glock 19.

The XD is OK, but two minus points are the tigger is mushy like a banana, and the grip safety sucks.

There is slightly more muzzle flip with the XD too, but not enough to matter.

They're both good, and they're 95% similar enough that it probably won't matter what you buy.

Implying 1960s era metal 15 round mags are somehow better than slick feeding 17 round mags with a polymer coating.

Yeah thats why every competition shooter uses the p226.

>Is there a single glock model that's not solid?
Glock has screwed up several times.

1st gen Glock .40cal, obviously, lacked chamber support, became a meme.

Glock 36, when they released it, many people complained about repeated jamming issues. I had one, it jammed on me continuously. Did some research online, there's one guy even sued them and I won. Google "Glock 36 lawsuit" and it should come up. Other people reported that gluing a strip of playing card to the back of the magazine would fix the issue. Glock never admitted there was any thing wrong but most attribute it to too much wiggle room in the magwell.

Gen 4 Glocks when first released had slightly too stiff recoil springs that would not cycle properly on light target/range loads. Glock released lighter springs to fix the issue.

I think there were some extractor updates on some of the models too, not sure.

So, to answer your question, Glock like any manufacturer, makes mistakes but their design is so simple and reliable that just about any Glock you get off the shelf at a store is going to 100%. They are far more reliable than some other guns, equally reliable to others and generally pretty accurate.
The real quality of Glock is their market share. They're so generic now that magazines, parts, holsters etc.. are available everywhere and not overly expensive compared to, for example, HK.

Good Guns OP.
Not perfect.

Obviously it was, I'd expect the Glock 19 unit cost to be no more than half what a P226 costs. As a concerned tax payer this is what we need more of.

Also the Glock 19 is clearly a better pistol

I got an XDs. It's nice. I've been through maybe 1000 rounds so far. Only three stoppages. Two FTF and one FTE. They were within the first 100 rounds I fired. I've used multiple mags and brands of ammo with it. I think the FTF were from my pinky applying pressure on the bottom of the flush mag. FTE might have just been because I was using cheap ass tula. I was afraid it was a squib when it happened. popped the barrel out and saw it was clear, continued shooting. Haven't had any stoppages since then.

You're not paranoid, just retarded.
Metal frame guns would still have failed at the overpressures these guns were exposed to (usually due to user being retarded), except metal shrapnel is much more dangerous.
Protip: they don't make grenades out of polymer for a reason.

Having a glawk kb: bruised hand, some scratches, ruined gun.
Having a revolver/CZ 52 or some other steel/alloy shit kb: shards and chunks of metal flying away from your gun at high velocities, good chance of fun times for reconstructive surgeons.

Is that somehow not a requirement for service pistols? Because I would think that it's a pretty big requirement, one that's right up there with reliability. The fact of the matter is even service pistols spent the vast majority of their time in a holster getting sweated on. Staying out of the way until it's actually needed is more important than getting a 3-inch group instead of a 6-inch group.
