A lot of aces were "made" during operation Barbarossa, in which they caught the Soviets with their pants down. Sure a lot of the numbers might be true, but also take into consideration that they were fighting a retreating, disoriented and badly equipped enemy.
I don't wanna shit on them being aces at their respective jobs, but take into consideration how they did in the eastern front and how they did in the western front (if they did serve in the western front). Another key thing is when their kills took place. The Soviet Air Force in 41 was something completely different from that of say 44-45.

It's funny that you actually believe this. Most industry is still up north, mostly because that's where the skilled labor is. Contrary to popular belief, business and unions can and do get along. The bulk of labor in the south is unskilled, underpaid, and generally menial (which, surprise, surprise leads to more people on welfare).
Defense industries have factories across the country, but their financial headquarters are almost always up north (or in Texas, but that's besides the point).
If you look at towns and counties that have the highest rate of federal aid, they will nearly always be located in Dixie. (With the occasional Montana or Wyoming township popping up). While it's true that big northern cities have a large amount of welfare recipients, they also have the highest rate of accessibility to charitable aid, so the burden on the system is much lighter than that of the southerners.
Again, the industry (foreign included) based in the south is menial and less productive than that based in the north. The real centers of industry in America today are the mechanized factories in the Pacific Northwest, tech industry in Silicon Valley, Biomedical Research in the North East, and manufacturing in the Great Lakes region (although that is faltering).

Almost all of them, the Western Front aces were fewer in number and most of them got most of their tallies through bomber kills. Like previously stated Hans-Joachim Marseille is the big exception, however, even his kill claim is highly inflated due to germans very loose kill-count standards. It's most likely his actual score is somewhere in the 50-80 region.
Hard to give you an exact percentage, but I would hazard over 80%. All the 200+ kill claims stayed in the east exclusively, and no small number of 100+ claim aces where shot down within months of being transferred over to the western front.
To give you an idea of how bad attrition was against the western allies. The luftwaffe lost 106% of their standing strength in the first half of 44. That doesn't mean everyone was shot down, it means most were shot down, some survived, and the reinforcement were shot down again.
