Let's talk about 45s. No grip safeties allowed. I think pic related will be my next purchase. Can you think of a reason not to get a p227?

Here's my old P220. It was the only gun I have ever regretted selling...

So, today I fixed that and put money down on a P220. Now I'm just waiting for funds to clear into my account and I'll go back to pick it up. Feels good. Feels reeeaaal good.

>>
>>28533181
Have you ever had issues with the rounds failing to chamber completely and the slide not closing? I rented a USP 45, and while it was a joy to shoot, I had 4 such malfunctions. Granted, it was a very dirty, beat to shit range rental gun (who knows if it was ever cleaned), and I was shooting Remington UMC, but I was still somewhat disappointed. I really want to like the gun because of how great it felt though.

Going to monitor this thread. I have a .45 can on the way and although I have a 9mm that it can go on, I really want a dedicated .45 host. Local ish shop did have a Mk23, but there's also other HK, FNX45, Sigs, Block 21 etc. Anyone have any recommendations? Either needs to come with or have a threaded barrel available. Sights I'll deal with, it's an Osprey anyway so suppressor height sights aren't a deal breaker.

I felt this as well but when I commented on it the guy said they shaved a lot of weight of the alloy frame so that the gun was not horribly unbalanced with a full mag. It makes the gun feel very front heavy and much lighter than you'd expect

So is owning a Mark 23 a meme?

Im looking at a first pistol and since Canadian can only have 10 round mags anyway.

I was pretty sold on 9mm because I associate 45 with 1911s and some fag Vermonter i meant once who told.menthe 1911 is thebgreatest pistol wver built.

Anyway, I also thought, since I can only have 10 b00lays might as well go larger and get 45 and I know the Mk 23 is as big as a house and costs 2 grand + but i also read about how well its built.

I see a lot of USPs in here but honestly, Mk 23 is just fucking cooler.

So would I be a fag for buying a mk 23?

To give you perspective...my other gun is a Tavor.
>>
>>28538520

The black quad was alright. The rest was just stuff I hadn't had at HEB.
>>
>>28540110
You're a fag for caring about if it's a meme gun, and the fact that you call it that doubly so.

Just get one if you want it. It's a nice and reliable, if slightly outdated, platform.

And remember that you're a fag whether or not you get one.

Had a P220 a while back, ended up getting rid of it. This one was made before Sig moved to Exetershit. Overall the older Sigs are just not as refined and well built as the newer CNC machined Sig.

-way looser slide/frame fit
-trigger blows compared to modern Sigs
-crap Blued finish instead of Nitron

It's super reliable though, but older German Sigs just really can't compare to modern Sigs.

Well it is the long slide Glock so its kinda like the Glock 34. Also Cabelas is over priced, they should be going for around $630 but they are a hot item so it's kinda hard to get them. Truth be told if the snot nose "kid" behind the counter (I know I know calling someone kid on 4chan but the guy looked fresh out of high school) got to me before I checked the prices of em online I would of probably bought it

I own it myself and it's a very enjoyable gun with some caveats:

-You pretty much have to have larger than normal hands to comfortably hold it.

-It has a proprietary rail which means unless you have the proprietary lam that it was designed for, you have to buy a 200$ish rail adapter to attach lasers and lights etc.

-It's an older design so finding accessories/sights for it is pretty difficult that doesn't come from hkparts.net.

-Mags are a bitch to buy, but that's H&K across the board.

Other than that, it's probably one of the most comfortable and accurate .45 I've ever shot. Is it worth the price tag? nah. You're buying it for the unique/crazy overengineered supposed durability of the gun and the history it came with, but it still is a very enjoyable gun to own, service and shoot.

>>28540618

>blanking out your serial number

So which pistol has the largest capacity? I like shooting and I want a couple .45s but I hate taking the time to reload. Which means either large magazines or lots of magazines. I'd rather have large magazines. I don't mind buying extended mags but I'd rather not spend the extra cash.

Thanks anon. All I could find was the XD Tactical 5". Holds 13 normally. I know I've never had issues with my XDs so I admit I trust springfield a bit more.

I'll take a look at the FNP .45. Though between the higher price and the reliability issues you were having I am a bit leery. If I can get a good deal on it I'll probably snap it up.
>>
>>28542356

>FNP 45
You got the FNP 45, had one and sold it. 15 rounds in a stock mag (not flush fitting though) Trigger is meh esp for a gun with a hammer. My gun had a lot o QC issues and had to be sent to FN 3 times before I sold it. Paid shipping each time too. My biggest issue with it was how picky it was with ammo, esp bulk ammo. Would not run WWB or most cheap reloads reliablely
>xDM
I had an xDM 45 long slide, felt good in my hand, never had any malfunctions. Packs 13 in flush fitting mag. Trigger was meh, xDM has enough after market that you can fix that. The xDM snaps a little more during recoil because of the high bore axis. Sold it
>Glock
Have a Glock 41 now, 13 rounds in stock mag, I got a little +2 mag extension that i've shot enough on that i'm comfortable running in my home deference gun. Also have 2 Kriss extensions that gives 30 rounds but haven't shot em yet to know if they are good to go or not. Accessories and magazines are all over the place for these. Did a trigger bar along with a slight polish and i'm happy with the trigger. Out of the 45s I owned this is my favorite out of the plastic guns. If shit went down Tomrrow this is the gun that would be on my hip
>HK
Shot both the MK23 and USP both get a 12 round mag, Mk23. Didn't own either, would think about buying the Mk23 because of muh Soild Snake but it would be a range toy. Both are pricy and magazines are pricy and hard to find. HK has one of the worst customer service around so good luck if you have an issue. Still like my Glock better then both

>>28542911
That got posted before I was ready, here is the complete post
>>
>>28542911
That's all I got on more then 10 round capcity 45s. M&P and SIG both are 10 or less for capacity with standard mags. My pick is still Glock with the USP at number 2. USP is just not price comparable to make it worth while. I know I know poor fag gonna poor but I got a mortgage to pay. Also like how my Glock trigger turned out after some work plus since it's cheap I don't mind singing it up. Rather take the extra money I saved on the glock over the USP and buy ammo.
>>
>>28543094
>>28543107
Thanks again anon. Though my post stands. Leery of the FNP because of the issues you had plus it is more expensive than the XD (m or the tactical). As I said before, I just don't like glock. Feels weird in my hand.

Don't worry about the poor fag syndrome. I'm not much better right now otherwise I would have gotten a Mk 23 for .45 super.
