Anyone have experience with the Swiss M70 gear?

I couldn't pass on the full set (jacket, pants and rucksack) for $25.

I'm in it for the pockets. Can have a full bugout set up ready.
>>
>>28500935
That's what's attracting me too, just keep it all bundled in the sack in my trunk... but my part of Cali-rado the red would stick out really bad.

Is it at least water resistant at all?
>>
>>28500992
Yeah, it isn't water proof, but it has extra waterproofing sewn into the spots that rain would hit the jacket.

oh boy oh boy. Should I buy ammo or gear
>>
>>28501419
I bought it because I thought the jacket would be comfy, and I could basically carry anything I'd want with me. The camo also is different enough that people won't assume that it's actually military gear (hide my autism level).

But I went with the bundle, because $25 for that much gear? I'd pay more than that for a decent jacket on its own. The rucksack will be great for camping and biking, and I'll probably figure a way to wear the pants as cargos onces it is too warm for the jacket. Fingers crossed there are belt loops so I can still CC.

Plus, I just like how the pattern looks. Swiss quality, with SS style.
>>
>>28499186
i fucking hope they dont run out by tomorrow evening. thats an excellent deal.
>>
>>28500992
>the red would stick out really bad.
You can dye it, I darkened mine up with some RIT dye(lots of it), just let it soak for a day or two and then let it dry without rinsing it. You're gonna think that it will get all over your skin if you don't, but I've worn mine in the rain and it was fine. It's not very water proof though.
>>
>>28501560
I'd like to see one lightened up as a desert camo. Seems like it would be a decent camo for urban environments at night, though.
>>
>>28501527
Shouldn't. They even had a lot of sizes to choose from. 6 foot, 200lbs, so I was able to nab an XL jacket and 34 waist pants.

You could try bleaching it. I used this stuff(pretty sure it was this) to bleach a wool jacket and it worked well. As goofy as it looks, it's actually a good camo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlLgZmiN6go
>>
>>28499186
anybody explaine why aplenflage had red in it? i feel like it might be effective but irs almost like it requires you to fight in an orchard.
>>
>>28501673
The red is for when you're knee deep in the dead
>>
>>28501673
Pretty sure the red is to match the leaves in the fall.
>>
>>28501673
Wiki entry says that its meant for alpine areas and built up zones of switzerland. I'd say the reddish tint is good for tree barks and mud.
>>
>>28501795
What does "built up zones" entail?
>>
>>28499186
>
Great shit for paintball, I run the field shirt with OD/brown pants.
>>
>>28501617

I have the same stats, but would have figured I would just need a large jacket.

Are these on a different sizing system?
>>
>>28499186
I wish they had a similar deal for French CCE stuff.
>>
>>28502410
Reading reviews, it looks like the sleeves are on the short side, so I went a size up to make sure I'd have plenty of room for movements and other garments. Euro clothing tends to run a little smaller.
>>
>>28502451
I figure take deals like these as they pop up. When something is so cheap, there's not much to lose. There will be other deals in the future, but at least you won't regret the ones you would miss.
>>
>>28502547
It's an unusable camo for my area, and they don't have my size. But otherwise I agree.
>>
>>28502515
The sleeves are super short, Ć¼nter-manlet tier length
>>
>>28502709
Hence why I opted for the XL.
>>
smallest waist is 32

fuck
>>
>>28502874
Just warning you. I ended up sewing some cuffs from an old hoodie onto the coat to help with the length because I'm a lankyfag. That worked well.
>>
>>28502909
Thanks for the heads up. I've had good luck with Czech larges, and the XLs are very cozy. Figured XL would be a safe option for the Swiss sizing. Glad they had the measurements for the pants.

Something weird as fuck with this website.
It's cheaper to buy 3 than to buy 1 of these:

I can't speak for the alps, but I live in a place that varies from desert hues to lush grassland. Red is great here. Unless red really sticks out in your area, it's generally pretty gud in camo

>>
>tfw 6' and 135lb

I will never find anything that fits me at a milsurp store.
>>
>>28502410
The sizing goes as follows:
Swiss * 2 = Centimeters

If you can find the two digit number on the inside left of the jacket (and put it through the calculation) that will give you the chest size. As long as you don't have a weird body shape, they fit pretty well.
>>
>>28503749

Will this shrink?

Couldn't find the cotton percentages, I'm a 33 waist. Debating between the 34 and 36.

Are there belt loops?
>>
>>28505395
Old models omitted belt loops, but they have an adjustable draw chord to adjust for fit. 34 should be fine to tighten to a 33 waist.
>>
>>28505430
Thanks, anon.
>>
>>28501673
Red is the first color filtered out by the earths atmossphere, thats why the sky is blue and so is water. Now the Alpenfalgge uses the same mechano, human brains (actually most mamals) are trained to replace the lost color (red) with whatever they see fit most. So alpenflagge blends in surprisingly good, especially at a distance over 10-20 yards.
Check some efficiency tests on YT, you'll see the effect. It works best if there is a lot of canopy/shadows

I'm an orangutan. Milsurp is always a shot in the dark.
>>
>>28505430
How tight could a 30 inch waist comfortably go? How are the legs length wise? They look like they got a lot extra judging from the pics so they'd fit pretty long.

How does the jacket sizing work?
>>
>>28499199
Is the face cover included in this deal?
>>
I couldnt resist and picked a pair up myself.

Even got free shipping, suppose you cant beat that deal, everything for 25
>>
>>28499233
holy shit my 1SG is a camo posing model.
>>
>>28499186
The ergonomy is bad, if you are wet you gain 30 pounds and if you put magazines in your cargo pockets (they told us to do it) your knees will be fucked.

Other than that it's standard millsurp and you can find it in a realy good state for a realy good price.

A lot of them were bought by immigrants and sent to kosovo for the war. It was so important and we saw so many in the news that everybody in europe tought it was kosovo camo. That's why the M90 gear isn't for sale and they burn it instead of selling it as surplus.
This grinds my gears... a lot...

>>
>>28504823
Again, I would already have my more expensive and better quality atacs shit, and non-surplus osprey aether pack which would do a better job

It's always good to have a backup for that qt that comes to you damsel-in-distress mode.
25$ isn't much to pay for equipping your spotter/sex toy.
>>
>>28506912
Yes. It is built into the hood.
>>
>>28507193
Might be
But you do realise that TAZ90 is still in use and they don't want any chucklefucks to pretend to be military. So they don't sell it. Shit the Tenue C i got issued last week was dated 1991. They burn it because they throw the unusuable stuff away (we usually burn our trash here)
>>
How long are the legs on the pants?

Are the jacket sizes as far as M, L and XL American sizes?
As a 6ft tall skeleton should I get Medium or Large?
>>
>>28509708
The sizes listed are American. They have pretty long pant legs, but jackets sleeves run short. I'd go large at least.
>>
>>28509779
So like if I got the smallest pants size I wouldn't be running out of leg?

I have a tiny waist, and a small frame overall, so I'm kind of worried if I'd swimming in a large or above.
>>
>>28509464
The C didn't change much, but some other stuff was changed or replaced since 1990. The taz90 isn't an imovable object. And they burnt a lot of those who didn't fit the new specs for the reason I mentionned above.
Same with the kevlar helmets, those that are more than 10 yo shouldn't be issued anymore and they are destroyed instead of sold.
I saw some in various trades but it was small quantity and 100% "lost", not sold as surplus.
