Ruger seems like they are hell bound and determined to be a firearms Goliath in America. I hope this works out for them, it would be cool to have them lobby for stuff like the HPA so they can sell budget kits like a $1500 RPR with a .30 caliber can and some accessories over the counter in any old gun shop.
>>
Did they do anything special or is this just meant to be the Official Ruger TM .22 Silencer ?
>>
>>28460644
They're just stepping a toe into the SOT game, a .22lr suppressor is easy to make, not subjected to crazy pressures, and gives them an NFA item to put their logo on. They're also pretty much known for .22lr firearms, so this is a pretty smart move.

I'm personally exited as fuck to se big names start to dabble in NFA items, It makes them more main stream and gives large company backing to stuff like the Hearing Protection Act and smacking the NFA around.

Imagine if Mossberg could sell "SBS 500" HD shotguns, or these Ruger suppressors could come packaged with guns.

Hell, imagine if the HPA passes and ruger can sell integrally suppressed 10/22 takedowns and 22/45's

Do you have too get more than one tax stamp for each type of the same gun, like if you get the stamp for a short shotgun and make or buy a sawed off would you have too go through the whole thing again for a serbu shorty? Also would a semiauto tec-9/10/kg-99 need a stamp for it or not?
>>
>>28460785
Each gun is it's own NFA item and the stamp is for the individual serial number for the individual gun.

>>28460460
Looks cool, I like the snap together baffle stack.

>>28460714
Maybe they will be ~$550 +stamp if Ruger mass produces them.

BLM protesters should really be grateful that Murrican cops idea of less than lethal isn't a .22 LR to the kneecaps

>>28460714
I guess that price isn't crazy for something so versatile that will last you ages.
>>
>>28460785
1 stamp per controlled item.

Two cut-down shotguns are two SBS tax stamps. One suppressor that goes on two guns is one suppressor tax stamp. One integrally suppressed short-barrel rifle is two tax stamps.

Pali fucking shits are worse than niggers
Nigger might steal your TV or pick a fight
Pali might try to stab you or blow themselves up
>>
>>28461098
How long does that take? Do they have to do another background check on you or something for each one? And is it even worth going through giving them all that data etc for it?
>>
>>28461123
Yes, you have to do the ENTIRE process over every time you buy a new item. 6-8 moths per form, you can submit multiple forms at one time.

This shit is not hard to understand.
>>
>>28461241
Ok, fuck it takes that long, thanks for the info.
>>
>>28461275
You're buying a federally regulated arm. This is the EXACT same process and paperwork to buy an RPG-7 or a full auto M60, it takes a while, and each new gun or silencer requires the paperwork to be done from scratch.
>>
>>28461241
>Yes, you have to do the ENTIRE process over every time you buy a new item. 6-8 moths per form

This should go faster now that Obama has mandated more employees handling the background check system. See! He's totally pro gun guize! :^)
>>
>>28461405
Hopefully I can even get a gun after his shenanigans.
>>
>>28461405
Nope, that has jack and shit to do with the NFA paperwork.

Oh, and to clear something up

>The trust changes mean if you have a trust you must notify your LEO and submit the relevant photos and finger prints
>But the LEO can't deny you if you have a trust
>The LEO can still deny an individual
>You do not get to avoid LEO approval as an individual
>All this did is fuck with trust owners a little but, nothing good happened for anyone.
>>
>>28460460
>At least it isn't made out of cast parts
Does that matter at all? It has no moving parts or anything that can wear.
>>
>>28461437
If the LEO denies you, can you fight it?
>>
>>28460706
I always thought of suppressed 10/22 as a puppy Vintorez.

Great. Another $1000+ metal tubeI won't be buying.
When are companies going to start making suppressors within a more reasonable price range?
>>
>>28461029
Assuming the barrel comes out to 16" wth the suppressor permanently attached then it would only be one stamp for the can. If the suppressor threads off then you'd need another stamp for the short barrel. The way to get around this is to make the suppressor body permanently part of the barrel but to make the baffle stack removable for cleaning.
>>
>>28461471
there are plenty of .22lr cans that cost less than the stamp.
>>
>>28461499
Well that's good to know, but I've never seen any sub $200 cans. (not calling you a liar)
Now if you could find me a $200 AR can I'd be a happy camper!
And I just found an article claiming a suggested retail price of $449 for the Ruger, so that's not nearly as bad as I had assumed.
>>
>>28461449
No, they have final say and can deny you for any reason they want.

>>28461458
The bill didn't say you don't need LEO approval as an individual. So nothing change. So you still need LEO approval as an individual.

Pretty simple.
>>
>>28461531
The SilencerCo Spectre II is $299 and is built like a tank. Fuck this Ruger wannabe bullshit.
>>
>>28461629
Damn, that's a very fair price for a can from a company with as good a reputation as SilencerCo!!
