Has anyone here ever got a garand from cmp?
>>
No, no one ever has, especially on this board
>>
I got an field grade M1 from the CMP but I'm thinking about giving it over to a gun buyback program for a $50 gift card.
>>
No, no one here owns guns.

Depends on the grade. Field grade ones can be a little chewed up, anything above that is pretty good

Got a post war H&R, but it is still the sexiest rifle to exist IMO.

I wish I knew where that card went. I think my dad threw it out which kinda sucks.

I'm trying to find a good cartridge to load her up with for if the chinks invade. I'm kinda thinking about Prvi Partizan 150 gr. JSP, any opinions?
>>
>>28455880
American Eagle M1 special is good, but that's the caviar of ammo. I just buy generic "milsurp .30-06" I can find on the internet. I use Prvi for other rifles though and I haven't had any trouble with them at all, but I'm not as fanatic as most on here. As long as you don't use too hot a round you're set.

never, friend

I've heard that the ammo they use for garand m1s is different than the .308 they use in other rifles.
>>
>>28456412
Its 30-06. What Garands should be chambered in
>>
Didn't we use to have a CMP approved gun club?

Nice garands
>>
>>28456412
Less powder cause the gas system, you can buy a mod for like 20 bucks that removes this issue.

>>28456449
Gun club, scouts, have someone certify your shooting capabilities, kinda tedious, but beats getting gouged for one at a gun show.
>>
If I buy a Garand from them, then cancel my membership with their affiliate club, will they take my garand away? I assume not, but I dunno.

Nah, they just have all the hoops to be complicated and hope you'll buy more after jumping across all their pages.

I probably wouldn't, those 1911s they're getting look nice.

what grade should I get if I want a garand with an obviously used stock, but a good, accurate barrel? I want something with a stock similar to my mauser. a bit beat up, but not horribly cracked and damaged. Being a good shooter is more important to me than the condition of the stock, but it would be a nice bonus.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but in that picture the pouch he's looking at has 5.56 stripper clips in it in disposable cardboard sleeves. You take them out and load them into magazines. They still give them out that way.
>>
>>28457167
No. It's right. They're just being fags rather than answering why/how the /k/ommando only has 4 rounds in his quick connect magazine.
>>
>>28457167
They are, its just a fun thing to see all the "clips" stuff going around and this image was made accordingly to stir the bullshit.

So when I ordered my Garand I included a copy of my 214 and a copy of my CAC as proof of eligibility. They processed my order for the ammo and already shipped it.

Did I fuck up and will not be receiving a rifle, or are they just the same old slow CMP? I sent off in early December.

I'll know it's you.

Pretty much. I didn't have it happen myself, but if I remember correctly they'd just send it all back if your documentation wasn't in order. It's a stupidly long process nowadays. It took me over three months to actually get my rifle. Came on June 5th though, so just in time. Like anon said though, wouldn't hurt to email them if it would put your mind at ease.

So I just checked my account on the CMP E-Store. They are currently processing an order for a rifle that was created yesterday. Thank you for the help comrades.

>>28458597

What's your preferred caliber? I'll keep it in my glovebox.
>>
Service grade, took 118 days from the time I mailed the order.

I'm bummed that I wasn't old enough when they had Carbines, that batch of 1903/1917s or even the surplus .22 rifles. Get one now while you still can, you won't regret it.
>>
So as a resident of Commiefornia can I still get a garand shipped to my door or does it have to go to an FFL?

>>28458674
yes, but you need your FFL03 & a COE
>>

c&r + coe
or have it shipped out of state and pick it up
or ffl

I'm curious though, if you get it shipped to an FFL, can you go there and just pick it up? or do you have to pay for the dros and wait 10 days?
