Anyone ever thought of printing a barrel around a steel coil for reverse threads? Or using $20 12gauge rifled barrel adapters permanently set in 3/4 inch pipe as the base of a no weld tube gun? Would a manually rotated open bolt revolver zip gun be legal? No magazine, no chance of full auto, but a blow back action clearing each chamber before the next shot is turned into place. Make it look a nerf maverick that auto ejects.

Black pipe isnt as tight as a real barrel. This is a safety feature the pressure you read about both shell and what the pipe can take is not accurate necessarily. A lot of gas slides around the wad. Sometimes the hull will go like split shell slugs cus the camber wont grip it enough leaving the brass separated.
Once again this is a feature not a bug. Pipegun can do things a standard shotgun cannot.

No, really, you can legally manufacture firearms in the US, so long as they meet whatever federal/state requirements.
From the ATF's very own website
"Firearms may be lawfully made by persons who do not hold a manufacturer’s license under the GCA
provided they are not for sale or distribution and the maker is not prohibited from receiving or
possessing firearms. However, a person is prohibited from assembling a non-sporting semiautomatic
rifle or shotgun from 10 or more imported parts, as set forth in regulations in 27 C.F.R. 478.39. In
addition, the making of an NFA firearm requires a tax payment and advance approval by ATF. An
application to make a machinegun will not be approved unless documentation is submitted showing
that the firearm is being made for the official use of a Federal, State, or local government agency (18
U.S.C. § 922(o),(r); 26 U.S.C. § 5822; 27 C.F.R. §§ 478.39, 479.62, and 479.105)."
You can't build them with the intent of selling them however.
